"We played hard. We wanted to get through the first (period). They’re a really good first-period team, if you look at their offense and what they’ve done in the first periods this year. I thought there were a couple times early where he probably didn’t handle it as well as he wanted, but then as the game went on, he was really smothering pucks. Pucks stayed in on him. He kept trying to get us whistles. That’s what I kept telling him (to do) during timeouts, because I wasn’t sure how much energy we had, so he did a good job."
