Nothing rhymes with January Month Predictions.

We have done this a couple of months now so I figured I would continue it as I kind of look forward to this and like to think about it.

12 games total (3 less than last month)

Mon Jan 2 Flyers (WC) 3-2 W 1-0
Thu Jan 5 Panthers 3-2 (ot) W 2-0
Fri Jan 6 at Penguins 3-1 W 3-0
Tue Jan 10 Coyotes 2-1 (so) W 4-0
Thu Jan 12 Senators 0-3 L 4-1
Sat Jan 14 at Maple Leafs 3-0 W 5-1
Sun Jan 15 at Canadians 1-4 L 5-2
Tue Jan 17 Predators 3-0 W 6-2
Thu Jan 19 Penguins 1-4 L 6-3
Sat Jan 21 at Bruins 3-2 (ot)W 7-3
Tue Jan 24 Jets 3-0 W 8-3
Tue Jan 31 at Devils 3-4 L (so) 8-3-1

Not going to pick wins and losses, but instead say I want 8 wins, we already won the big one, but Id have to say I would really like to push the Penguins a little further down and beat the Bruins. That boston game will be the biggest test of the season IMO.

Clowes Line 01-03-2012 07:58 PM

8-3-1

Tawnos 01-03-2012 07:58 PM

7-4-1

I specifically want them to beat the Leafs and Bruins, but kicking the Penguins down a few notches in the division point gap would be nice too.

7-4-1

I'm just hoping it isn't the January that never beganuary... don't see that happening with Staal, Wolski and Sauer(hopefully in better overall form) back. I say 8-2-2.

I'm going 7-4-1 as well. Should be some good games in there

Nostaalgic 01-03-2012 08:09 PM

Id be happy with 13 points or more

Just like said above, Boston will be the biggest test of the season so far but as long as they give a full 60 minute effort i see no reason why we shouldnt come out with 7-8 wins

Florida Ranger 01-03-2012 08:12 PM

9-3-0

BlueshirtBlitz 01-03-2012 08:15 PM

Beat Boston, Habs, Debs and Pens, please.

KingWantsCup 01-03-2012 08:55 PM

8-3-1

Swagelin 01-03-2012 09:09 PM

8-3-1

NYRSchrute217 01-04-2012 06:07 AM

8-3-1. But anywhere from 6-10 wins would not surprise me.

Beacon 01-04-2012 08:52 AM

Treacherous month. Not a lot of games, but 8 of the 12 games are against playoff teams, 5 of which are against top-5 teams in the conference. That said we already won one of these.

We should win 7 more, at least 6. I would say 8-4 for the month is expected, but it could be a bad month if things dont start out well.

Being somewhat conservative just because we've been so damn good. We could easilly outperform this, or we could have a losing streak with the Pens Bruins Montreal games and a solid defensive team in the Preds.

So far we've met almost every challenge successfully.

Giglio NYR15 01-04-2012 12:10 PM

Just like torts said. Take it a game at a time, all the distractions are now behind us.

Giglio NYR15 01-05-2012 11:51 PM

Just realized we have a week off at the end of the month. Is the NHL all star break always a week between games? Idk why this just seems weird to me, I guess its just me.

Draft Guru 01-06-2012 12:47 AM

We have some tough, tough road games this month. We have had some success recently playing in Pittsburgh, Toronto, Boston and Jersey but those are still tough games. We never win in Montreal, I'd be happy as can be just getting a point out of that game.

Total of 24 points up for grabs in the month....we already have 4...I'll be happy with 16 out of 24 points this month. That leaves 12 points to get in our remaining 10 games (6-4-0, 5-3-2, etc). I'll take that.

Being 1st in the conference is nice, but my main focus is the division. That should be (and hopefully is) our goal. Win the division, get a top 3 seed and home ice in the first round. Anything better than that (1st or 2nd in the east) is just gravy.

Giglio NYR15 01-07-2012 01:56 AM

3 down, 9 to go. See ya at MSG tuesday.

bmw2004 01-07-2012 08:24 AM

They going to come out flying versus Coyotes beat them 5-2 on Tuesday and destroy Sens 6-1 on Thursday.

Giglio NYR15 01-13-2012 12:06 AM

Anybody see a 3 game losing streak now...at least?

Don't think they will lose both but it wouldn't shock me if they did. The Rangers haven't matched up well against Toronto this year and games in Montreal always gives this team trouble for whatever reason.

Yeah it's possible. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Adversity makes teams play better in the long run.
