http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...GZNB_gSBHPYZ3t VS. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...VXVIV0DsvEvjRy Both teams Playing game 40 tonight in St. Louis, MO. Blues sit at 5th in the west with 49 points. 22-12-5 Oilers at 13th with 35 points. 16-20-3 RNH is out with a shoulder injury. Steen apparently still having concussion symptoms. This is meeting 2 of 4 against Edmonton. The Oilers took the first match 4-2 back on October 30th on their home ice. |
Hoping this to be a sure thing in the bag.

Blues played one of their worst games of the year the last meeting. This is a winnable game. Need this one.
Bummer RNH is out, was hoping to see him play in person tonight. This is a game that we should win but as Liut said last time we played awful, we need to build from the win on Tuesday and come out with a bang. Go Blues!
Is Elliot starting today?

Halak is in net. |

Their speed is a killer but if we can grind them down physically and play like they did Tuesday the Blues will be alright
They are without probably their best player, and we are a dominant team at home. Halak looks to be in the zone so frankly there's no reason we should lose this game. No disrespect to the Oilers, as they are a young and fast team who can be dangerous, but we are just simply better and need to get these 2 points.

Going to go with a 3-2 Blues Win baby!
Blues Goals: Perron, Stewy, Backes Edmonton Goals: Eberle, Hall |

Nugent-Hopkins who is second in points on their team is IR. We started to play solid hockey again. Some of our players are seemingly producing a bit who haven't this season. Our physicality should wear down their speed skates and pay in dividends by 2nd and 3d period. I think there is a LOT in our favor going into tonight's game. And I think Elliott is in net which the team seems to respond better and willing to have more confidence that he will keep the puck out(my personal opinion). Besides, I said I am hoping. ;) |

I say another big win and performance from Halak. Blues win 5-2.
This is a game that scares me. People overlook the Oilers too much, lots of speed and creativity even with RNH out. We gotta be tight defensively or they could easily put 5-6 up on us.
On a positive note, the Blues will be playing on better ice than they did in Edmonton which now has, by my reckoning, possibly the worst ice in the entire NHL.
On a negative note...Edmonton plays much better on good ice. Perhaps not so much a positive note after all. |

Scratch my 5-2 prediction...We usually stink against large goalies.
I love me some Sobotka. Wish Arnott would have buried that.

Should have been a trip on that break away too.
It's brutal that the Blues kept trying to force that puck back to the point when the Oilers were gassed on their PK. Arnott, I'm looking at you in particular.
What an effort to keep Edmonton from clearing 4 or 5 times on the PP, but just no creativity at all and eventually an ill advised pass by our veteran leads to a 2 on 1 the other way. Just awful.
For the people wondering why the Blues are boring, that PP was the prime example
that PP was ugly
