Primary Target

Chris Higgins, a former Panther whom the Cats traded at the deadline to, who else, the Canucks. He has found a new home in Vancouver, playing good minutes on the 2nd line with Kesler and sadly-injured Booth. Higgins was part of a major purge that saw Tallon remake the Panthers in one offseason.

Time to Moby Dick the Orcas. Lets do it big!

CHGoalie27 01-08-2012 08:27 PM

So...who else is gonna be there tonight? More Canadian visitors? Wasn't half as much as the Montreal crowd last I remember.

ShootIt 01-08-2012 08:27 PM

3.01 GAA and a .897 Save Percentage? :help:

Hey, the team gets points when he plays, but, I'm scared thinking about him playing against a really good team like the Canucks.

Sucks that Booth is out, would of liked to see him playing back at the BAC.

Go Panthers!

Boooooth10 01-08-2012 08:29 PM

Man, Higgins sure got ugly since the last time we saw him in Florida. :sarcasm:

thepuckmonster 01-08-2012 08:43 PM

Woah, nice to see Samuelsson heating up for you guys. Who pissed him off now? :sarcasm:

RainingRats 01-08-2012 09:23 PM

If we take too many penalties, we lose.

The Canucks are going to try and sucker us in to penalties. Thats what they do, start shiat, and don't back it up. The try and frustrate other teams so that they ultimatley beat themselves.

Not my type of hockey personally.
The one problem with this is we have been taking a lot of penalties lately, which is uncharacteristic of our team. Hopefully for tomorrow and the rest of the season the boys got it out of their system and Dineen gave them a stern talking to.

I hope we win. Panther - Canucks games were always HUGE at my place in College. My roommate for a few years was the biggest Canucks fan. We would circle and underline the game at the start of the season, always big bragging rights on the line... no matter who finished better that season, it was always about the head-to-head game. I have to work tomorrow or I'd be having a drink with him watching it like old times!

FlaPnthrsPunk 01-08-2012 09:35 PM

Two points here would be huge since we don't play again until Friday vs. the Pens. I agree that the key here is not to take stupid penalties with the Canucks having the best PP in the league. It's not going to be easy and will take a total team effort for sure.

I wish Booth was playing as well. It was strange watching interviews of him from earlier today wearing a Canucks t-shirt. The guy had nothing but good things to say about his playing time here and said he's so glad to see the team doing well.

Luuuongo 01-08-2012 09:40 PM

Good luck guys, great to see Samuelsson doing well.

I liked Samuelsson, just hated how streaky he was. Higgins makes his return :D but sadly Sturm/Booth don't get to play. Duco will be interesting to watch as well, very impressive in the pre-season

StrangeVision 01-08-2012 09:51 PM

I think your picture of Higgins is Lapierre.

flomarilius 01-08-2012 09:57 PM

LOL thats not Higgins in the OP =D!

keslerburrows 01-08-2012 10:14 PM

Booth has been cleared to play, would be great to see him in this game!

ProstheticConscience 01-08-2012 10:19 PM

Hey guys. Good to see Sammy's back and playing well for you. Looking forward to seeing him.

Booth is actually medically cleared to play now. He's on the trip and theoretically could lace them up, but he's still a game time decision. He might want to get a few more practices under his belt before coming back. Sucks he got hurt when he did; he was finally hitting his stride and fitting in well after his breaking-in period.

Good luck. (not too good) ;)

haha crap, I fixed it, I think. Stupid articles having different pics associated with him. No offense to Higgins, but I wouldn't know him if I saw him hah.

Beezeral 01-08-2012 11:35 PM

Gonna be a sparse crowd with the CFB NAtional title game on at the same time

KesGold17 01-08-2012 11:44 PM

Should be a good game. The Panthers are having quite a good year, would be nice to see them in the playoffs!

Too bad Booth won't be playing (most likely), but it's good to see Sammy playing well for you guys.

BLAME CANADA* 01-09-2012 01:08 AM

So we should make bets on what our next trade is together ;) should be a good game and good to see you guys in the playoff race, Sams is the guy you want in the playoff he is pretty clutch and I'm betting he'll have a big game tomorrow.

SoupyFIN 01-09-2012 02:38 AM

The Canucks do not rely on the powerplay as much as people think.

In the 8 games before they played the Bruins Saturday, the Canucks had won 6, lot 1 and lost a shootout. In that span they only had 2 PP goals.

GR tweeted this yesterday

#FlaPanthers say a good crowd expected Monday v #Canucks although some of the end zone tarps are back

I personally could care less about the football game. Don't like either team hate Saban and the game was already played once 9-6 not real exciting.

I hope its a good game an Clemmer doesn't suck tonight.

adam graves 01-09-2012 07:13 AM

The game is going to come down to 2 things for us: Clemmer; and the first line, especially Weiss, breaking out of the little rut they've been in.

Hopefully reboundo had too much garlic bread at pizza time and got into an argument with Gina and her dad lol.

Boooooth10 01-09-2012 08:11 AM

GR posted some videos with Luongo, Higgins, and Booth.
