....

I thought this was a lower body thing? Does not compute.

Well, that'll probably be Bouchard's season. Sad.

squidz* 01-10-2012 10:55 AM

So is this in addition to a groin injury, or was that just smoke and mirrors?

squidz* 01-10-2012 10:56 AM

Also, more reason to take a flier on Brule.

Oh that's in like 5 minutes. Soon we'll see who put the highest claim in.

Bookman 01-10-2012 10:56 AM

Fail for Nail is becoming a possibility.

I think they're In a Hurry for Murray, myself.

Yeah I'm lost on that too. He took an elbow in Vancouver but it's not hard to say "upper body."

Jarick 01-10-2012 11:01 AM

I really hope it's not serious. With his history, this could be it. Even if he doesn't ever play again I pray for a quick recovery and few symptoms. This has got to be hell.

For the Wild, they're done. Butch was the only high skill player left in the forward group. I'm guessing they draft #10 again.

Going 4-28-8 wouldn't be bad enough to finish last. That would put us at 64 points (what Edmonton earned last year). Columbus is on pace for a 54 point season. Anaheim's on pace for 62 points. Edmonton's decent start to the year has them on pace for 70. It's entirely likely a team finishes with fewer than 60 points this season. That hasn't happened since 06-07 when Philly finished with 56 points.

According to Russo, he didn't feel right since Winnipeg. Not sure why he didn't say something then. Groin injury apparently was real. Guh.

Poor guy. Have to feel bad for him and Gui. As for the Wild...

Good game, God.

Jarick 01-10-2012 11:21 AM

I would love to finish #5 and then win the lotto and completely screw over C-Bus. We have enough karma mojo.

But would that really help this team?

Nail would help, I'm sure, but we need a great defender more.

Unless...Washington really wants Nail and trades us Colorado's(probably top-5) pick, their pick(looks like top-10 right now, probably closer to top-15 eventually), and a 2nd...and then we trade Wash+2nd+3rd for another top-5 pick...so then we end up with two top five picks and choose Murray and Trouba/Forsberg....

Alright boys and girls, I might have just fallen into the Fail-For-Nail campaign trap

squidz* 01-10-2012 11:30 AM

I still have my hopes pinned on Rielly falling to us. I know a lot of people projected him to hold pat through the injury, but with the number of injuries out there I think they start falling.

Foxlockbox 01-10-2012 11:38 AM

No voi vittu. Can't express it better in english.

Jarick 01-10-2012 11:40 AM

Hmm...yep, an elite goal scoring forward who can play in the NHL at age 18 would probably help the team :)

Take that dirrrty Parise money and throw it at Suter. Then trade Heatley and give that money to Parise :D

If the team can get rid of Zidlicky, Schultz, and/or Cullen, that's a lot of cap space freed up too. The kids will all be cheap.

Avder 01-10-2012 11:45 AM

Why, God, why?

WiFi75 01-10-2012 11:48 AM

No, no, no.. no.. :shakehead

GopherState 01-10-2012 11:48 AM

Maybe it's me but I find it hard to take Fletcher's assurance that Bouchard's concussion symptoms are minor (although I hope they are) after all the vague posturing the team just did.

Clutterbucked 01-10-2012 11:56 AM

Wow that really sucks. I hope he can bounce back quickly

I think it's probably safe to assume that any injury reported by the Wild is greatly understated in most cases and that the team itself is an unreliable source of injury info.

Sharppi 01-10-2012 12:20 PM

Oh great, more concussions. I don't think I want to watch todays game.

If it wasn't for the fact that I really do like the Sharks I might not want to either anymore.

At this point it just feels like big grains of salt being crammed into the wounds.

I wonder who else has a Concussion and hasn't spoken up.

ShutDownDefense 01-10-2012 12:25 PM

I don't think we'll get Nail, I'm hoping for Forsberg or something like that, maybe get another first rounder and get a forward in the early part and a D in the later part.

Don't think anyone else, you can't hide a concussion. Go ask Colby Armstrong.
