http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=611147

Not official (that will come tomorrow) no Cowen in rookies or Gonchar in big game (Phaneuf:rant:)

Lenny the Lynx 01-11-2012 04:02 PM

Who the **** is Geening?

The Waffler 01-11-2012 04:04 PM

**** I love me some Geening.

SpezDispenser 01-11-2012 04:05 PM

What? No Cowen in the rookie game?

Golden 01-11-2012 04:14 PM

This Geening fellow takes a spot away from a deserving rookie. The NHL ****s up again. :shakehead

FrankTousi 01-11-2012 04:15 PM

that would be sweet, he'll be tearing the rookie skills competition apart :yo:

Yashin 01-11-2012 04:15 PM

It'll be sweet to see Elliott in the ASG

Golden 01-11-2012 04:16 PM

Mods, you're not right for changing the title.

Missing "R's" Baffle Indiana Town
Quote:

Today's bizarre crime story is brought to you by the letter "R". In Greencastle, Indiana someone is stealing all of the "R's" off of roadside signs. They're saying it's the work of a consonant crook, but there's only one thing you can do with that many R's... Make pirate signs, Arrr!

He's not a rookie.

Edit: I'm guessing you're talking about the rookie game?

CanadianHockey 01-11-2012 04:54 PM

Y U No take Cowen, NHL?

aragorn 01-11-2012 05:03 PM

Is Z. Smith not considered a rookie? He should be there along with Greening & Cowen.

It's true.

It happens a lot actually.

BonkTastic 01-11-2012 05:04 PM

Wait, this isn't the official list, right? It's just NHL.com writers offering their projections of what will happen?

If so, I think the NHL.com writing staff need to be taken with a serious grain of salt. Their "draft projections" are laughably bad, and I imagine these aren't a whole ton better.

No main gig. I should have added :sarcasm:. In the all star vote thread there were people saying that MDZ should have been voted in.

BonkTastic 01-11-2012 05:12 PM

AND FURTHERMORE,

... these geniuses only named TWO defenceman (Faulk & Larssen) out of the 12 players they "predicted" would be the final rookie roster (also, as an interesting point: no goalies).

Cowen will be there. This list is a total joke.

GK 01-11-2012 05:13 PM

Cowen deserves to be in it more then Greening does. However, he is a defensive-defenseman so I wasn't expecting him to be there.

Not official yet, so I still have hope.

arent the rookies just there for the skills comp? dont think you need a full roster as there is no rookie game

Greening would be beast in the fastest skater though

Mercurial 01-11-2012 05:18 PM

Greening is 6th in rookie scoring
http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.h...ewName=summary

They should have a Rookie Richard trophy.

Right. I forgot there was no game last year.

For reference, here's the Rookies list from last year - 9F, 3D)

Tyler Ennis F - Buffalo Sabres
Jeff Skinner F - Carolina Hurricanes
Jordan Eberle F - Edmonton Oilers
Taylor Hall F - Edmonton Oilers
Evgeny Dadonov F - Florida Panthers
Michael Grabner F - New York Islanders
Derek Stepan F - New York Rangers
Logan Couture F - San Jose Sharks

Cam Fowler D - Anaheim Ducks
Kevin Shattenkirk D - Colorado Avalanche
Oliver Ekman-Larsson D - Phoenix Coyotes

Congrats to Greening. He's had a decent season thus far this year.
