NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

We want to win and it doesnít matter what we have done in the past, every night we want to win.
- Henrik Lundqvist

We have had success in the last bunch of games and, obviously, throughout the season. But it still feels terrible to lose. It sucks. Itís the worst.
- Brian Boyle

We had chances to score, I thought he played really well but Boyleís line canít check their top line and check the way they did, plus lead our team in chances, too.
I just donít think we got enough out of our top guys.
- John Tortorella

time to start the next winning streak. It will be interesting to see what Torts does with the lines.

I say hank gets the nod and then Biron faces the Habs.

darko 01-13-2012 11:42 PM

Lets get back in win column.

Net Front Presence 01-13-2012 11:48 PM

Hopefully Dubinsky comes back for this one

This. Hank has a time at the Bell Center every year.

MAC TRUCK 01-14-2012 12:23 AM

I think its time Hank plays a few games in a row. Let him start in Montreal too. Let him face that demon and turn it around. Biron lost there last time anyway.

Giacomin 01-14-2012 12:35 AM

I agree let Henrik play back to back. He will get enough games off to rest down the stretch.

Sheer Con* 01-14-2012 12:46 AM

I know the Leafs can be pretty tricky for some teams. Good luck.

Yeah, Vancouver's pretty tough too for some teams. I can understand how you guys couldn't beat them. :) Not everybody can be as good as us.

LGR!

LGR!

Please, don't remind me. I tear up like Kesler when thinking about that game.

Guys, I really, REALLY want this win. I know we always want to win, but, LEAFS FANS. I want them to feel pain, shame, remorse, regret, violation, I want them to look at their team and wonder, "Why? Why do I watch these things?"

I want their boards to fall into a deep deep depression of "fire and trade everyone", and all of their trolls come out to make comments like "lol you thought we were contenders."

I want to see them make a thread titled "This is a bad hockey team."

Win tonight. Just ****ing win.

Richards captain?

Onion Boy 01-14-2012 07:56 AM

Someone needs to challenge Phaneuf. Maybe the hit was clean, but he knocked out one of our best Ds.

beastly115 01-14-2012 08:01 AM

We need to win this one. We might end up facing the Leafs in the 1st round and we're going to need the confidence from beating them in the regular season if we face them in the playoffs.

Dorado* 01-14-2012 08:06 AM

Hit Kessel and Lupul every chance you get . They are both shifty but bang those two and you take them out if their game . Our team scoring is predicated on taking the body ..... Hit first play a patient road game and like e dry night we are in it. Is it too much to ask for our PP to even have a chance at scoring ?

I feel like those two are going to rip apart our defense if we play the way we did against Ottawa. All lines have to have a strong forecheck with solid anchoring D and I think we'll be fine.

Riche16 01-14-2012 08:44 AM

I have a bad feeling...

Come on boys! Prove that feeling wrong!!!

Rangers1135 01-14-2012 08:46 AM

I'm going to a Sabres vs. Islanders game tonight because of a package deal for a the game against the Rangers on the 24th. Let's Go Rangers!!

Plenty of good reasons to challenge Phaneuf. A clean check isn't one of them.

That's true. But Biron didn't have a particularly strong performance in Montreal last time. In addition, Montreal isn't exactly a good team this year. It wouldn't surprise me if we tried Lundqvist at the Bell Centre and used Biron against Toronto (since we haven't beat Toronto yet). Either way, our two net minders will be splitting these two games.
