Les Canadiens ownership setup?

How does it operate? I thought Geoff Molson, the President, was THE guy but after hearing comments about cownership possible not getting along, and Geoff Molson moving from chairman to president. Can someone clarify if Geoff Molson has the hammer or does he have to answer to others on the ownership comittee?

Since June 2011, Molson became the president of the club. I forgot the name of the guy who became Chairman though.

Where did you read that the owners didn't get along?

Funny answer, I know, but I posted the details of the team's ownership a while back after looking it up so you can search the forum and find that. Molson family is by far the single largest shareholder. It can also be ascertained from the Internet with some searching.

It was discussed on HNIC last night.

Corporate Legal Issue.... the same person can't be chairman of the Board and President of the team. Its a conflict of interest, so Molson gave up the Chairman job when he took the President job.

President has more day to day responsibility with the team. Where Chairman is more an "overseer" of everything who looks big picture and doesn't get involved in the day to day stuff, even if technically the chairman is superior to he president.

Molson wanted more day to day responsibility...

Nothing more to it than that.

he has other ppl involved in the buy, its not like he forked over all the cash himself. He could technically be the guy calling the shots but im pretty sure hes gotta answer to angry investors.

correct this was explained on hockey night in canada, there was a rumor that the minority owners didn't like what was happening and them and geoff molson were not getting along, friedman I think it was spoke with one of the minority owners and he said nothing could be further from the truth. Although what did you expect him to say Yes we are at each other's throats.

Of course fans and media making mountains out of mole hills!

Friedman stated the obvious that the President of the Club could not be the Chairman of the Team either after looking into it. This was just more rubish by CBC to make Montreal look worse than Toronto. :shakehead

Cannot wait for CBC to lose the National telecast to CTV, TSN and Rogers!

Awful

Yeah, because the owner of the Leafs is not going to take pot shots at the Habs.

Can't wait until other teams get hot in the next few months while Toronto gets really cold as usual and ends up in 9th place. Then their smug fans, retarded media and ****** bag management can suck it.
