8th place in the West

As of now, there's 5 teams in a tight battle for last in the West. Who has the best shot of taking the last playoff spot?

Minnesota 46 22-17-7 51
Dallas 45 24-19-2 50
Colorado 47 24-21-2 50
Phoenix 46 21-18-7 49
Calgary 47 21-20-6 48

Minny or Dallas I think

Tomas W 01-18-2012 03:38 PM

Colorado, I actually think they have the best team depth. Not that I have given this much thought.

Shinsuke Nakamura 01-18-2012 03:40 PM

Minnesota hangs in there IMO.

ZetterBurger 01-18-2012 03:44 PM

Coyotes are the best coached team and play the best defensively. They get in.

I Hate Chris Butler 01-18-2012 03:45 PM

Dallas.

AfroThunder396 01-18-2012 03:50 PM

I'll give the edge to Dallas, but I think Colorado will make things interesting.

Fraser Read 01-18-2012 03:51 PM

Call me Crazy, but I'm betting on Anaheim.

you are crazy, my friend.

With the way the Wild has been playing lately, they have a higher probability of being a lottery team than making the playoffs.

1st in the league to 1 point of missing the playoffs in a month's span. :surrender

They have 38 games left. They'd have to win 29(or win almost 29 and OT lose a few) of them just to get to 95 pts.

I'm betting the cut off in the West is no lower than 93.

It's not impossible but they'll basically have win 3 games for every loss.

I'm going to say Colorado, although it's a real crapshoot.

FlameChampion 01-18-2012 04:04 PM

Really tough one to call I think, honestly I dont know. I picked Dallas but who knows, it should be exciting though.

Fel 96 01-18-2012 04:04 PM

I'd say Dallas.

No way the Wild finish 8th if the injuries keep happening.

Campoli2Burrows 01-18-2012 04:05 PM

If the Wild get healthy I expect them to make a run and take it.

Allen Degenerate 01-18-2012 04:08 PM

Isn't Koivu out for a while for Minnesota? If he is, we can safely rule out the Wild. If he isn't, I still think Phoenix takes it. Their edge in coaching is immense.

We have a Polls section. Please start future polls there. Thanks.

I want Dallas to be in a playoff spot, if all they can get is 8th, so be it. If Detroit's still 1st it'd probably be a good series.

Tkachuk4MVP 01-18-2012 05:51 PM

I think it will be Dallas unfortunately.

Billy Mays Here 01-18-2012 06:27 PM

I'll go with either Dallas or Pheonix. Colorado has an outside chance at it. We're done though. Too many injuries and a crap roster. We've only won 2 of our last 16 games for pete's sake.

RomersWorld* 01-19-2012 01:10 AM

I won't bet against the Coyotes. I think it will be the Coyotes or the Stars.

I don't think Anaheim will make it, but will they keep Dallas or Phoenix out of the playoffs?

They have three games remaining against Dallas and two against Phoenix.

Razor29 01-19-2012 11:02 AM

The Avalanche, I hope.

Rhaego 01-19-2012 01:20 PM

I'm definitely a homer, but I see Colorado. When Duchene comes back our team should be great (very inconsistent though)

JalapenoPeppa* 01-19-2012 01:30 PM

Dallas or Phoenix.

Freudian 01-19-2012 05:43 PM

Your guess is as good as mine, which is mainly motivated by who I would want to make it.
