Voted for Fogarty. Doubt any other of our prospects can fetch a third rounder.
Add Valentenko. I'm hoping that his preseason was poor only because because of his injury. |
McColgan

Yogan. Add Ceresnak.

Went with McColgan on this one. Leading scorer on an underwhelming Kelowna roster. Bulmer is the only other good forward on the roster. Was a projected first round player before he got sick and missed the beginning of last season. He obviously has the talent, but the only issue with him right now is his team isn't great. Still putting up a point per game.
I also don't like Fogarty playing in a non-major junior league (OHL, WHL, or QMJHL). Could he be putting up at least a point per game in those leagues? No clue, but he's my pick after McColgan. Add Stajcer. Putting up a near .930 SV% splitting time with Jordan Binnington (.889 SV%, 3.40 GAA) in Owen Sound. He's an overager, but so is Yogan and he's on the list already. He's also putting up top numbers on a team that most likely doesn't even want him there and aren't playing him that much because they want to develop someone who will be there over the next couple years. |
I like Lindberg here. The points aren't sexy but he's been playing in a men's league for 3 seasons now (only 20 years old). Has exceptional faceoff talent, and if he decides to come to NA has a great chance of making the NHL soon.
VS a guy like Fogarty who has great upside but is so far off from NHL play. My top 10 before the season started looked like...[excluding Zuccarello] Kreider, Erixon, Thomas, McIlrath, Hagelin, Miller, Fasth, Weise (before the waive), Vtank, Lindberg So Lindberg, add Vtank |
Yogan. Close between him and Fogarty. Deciding factor was how well Yogan did in the week or two in the AHL last year. Add Valentenko.
|
Lindberg. Basis of potential + difficult degree of competition.
You seem to have most of the possible prospects covered with the 1st post. Not sure how to rate the Gs v. the skaters. |
Yogan, add vtank

I voted Lindberg. Even though he's having a bit of a down year, I still think he has a decent chance of being an NHL player.
I like Fogarty a lot, but he's still at least 3-4 years away, so it's very hard to say how he'll turn out. McColgan's putting up points, but I'm not sure how well his game will translate to the NHL given his size. Yogan's looking nice, but it is important to remember that he is an overager. Add Baldwin. |
Yogan, add Ceresnak.

For the record, I would take every prospect currently in the poll ahead of Lindberg.
