take todays NYR squad, basicallly the 2005 roster as we all have an idea what it would be like and what players from the system would be here.

now if u can take away Jagr, Kasparitis, Holik and Nylander and replace them with 4 past rangers it could be 3 fwds and one defenseman or 2and 2 what ever u like who would it be, to step in the spot now and represent NYR and help build with the youth. for me i would say.
since being born in 1978 i was only around to see 80's hockey thats what i will go by

i guess those 4 would be nice vets to work with the youth.

Jean Ratelle
Brad Park
Brian Leetch
Mark Messier the day the Oilers traded him.

That's a hard question because does it imply prime years or Rangers years?

Assuming the first I'd go with Messier-Gretzky-Jagr on forward and Leetch on defnese.

Assuming it was Ranger years I'd go with Graves-Messier-Amonte and leetch on defense.

It depends on the scenario really.

Or Richard and Brad Park just so I could see them play
