Icing

After another injury in a race for the puck (Columbus-Detroit) - what's your take?

Keep it but allow line changes again and remove the trapezoid. Problem solved.

Goalies were not the reason keeping injuries from occurring on icings and line changes don't dictate the willingness of a player to get to the puck first.

Change the rule to no-touch and avoid potential injuries.

Change it to Hybrid Icing, don't know why they haven't implemented it yet.

No touching icing slows the game down, so leave it as it is.

No touch icing as it is in international hockey.

Dude...

IT WAS NOT ON AN ICING PLAY.

It was on a dump-in into the zone from the blue line.

Icing rules in no way apply to this.

While I want to say leave it as it is, a hybrid would be great. If a player on either team is ahead of the other, then let it be touch icing or called off because the offensive player gets it. I dont think it would be the worst idea to have it be no-touch when it is really neck and neck and something bad might happen.

Change it to no touch icing.

Came here hoping to vote for this but it wasn't an option. It's an easy solution, I also don't have any idea why it isn't implemented yet.

Needs to be changed. The images from the Foster injury will never leave my head as long as I live and the Fedun injury caused by contact with Nystrom was just horrible. A young players career potentially ended because of a stupid rule.

I think it does. Players try harder to get the puck on an icing because they don't want to stay on the ice. If they allow line changes again, they wouldn't go for an icing as much.

Prefer it to be the way it is now versus no-touch icing, but I would be cool with hybrid icing rules in place.
