Boucher on Hot Seat in Tampa Bay
See The Morning Skate section:

Garioch wouldn't make things up to just fill space and meet a deadline, would he. :sarcasm:

If true and comes to pass -- Cunnyworth or Boucher?

The Kremelin Wall* 01-24-2012 04:46 PM

I don't want Boucher. He's not that good and his system is boring as ****.

Neither, they both have horrible records.

On the flip side, I can see why we would take on Boucher :shakehead

MrMcGz 01-24-2012 04:47 PM

Fodder. Boucher has Lindy Ruff job security in Tampa until he gets all the personnel he needs to run his system effectively.

Obviously Boucher.

I don't mind Cunneyworth, i don't mind the fact that he doesn't speak french but he's just not that good of a coach. Not the worst but not great.

buddahsmoka1 01-24-2012 04:48 PM

I would take Boucher now that he has gotten his feet wet in the NHL.

Price My Man Crush 01-24-2012 04:50 PM

No Cunneyworth and Boucher. I want another one. :)

RussCourtnallsGhost 01-24-2012 04:50 PM

I like Boucher's personality, but my head explodes just watching his system.

DBS 01-24-2012 04:54 PM

Garrioch is a hack. Stevie Y won't get rid of Boucher like that.

Habaneros 01-24-2012 04:55 PM

they need a goalie before they fire Boucher...

If they don't get one, YZ should be fired first.

He has terrible goaltending, is missing Ohlund and has to use MAB as his #4. I can see why he uses the system he does.

Stradale 01-24-2012 04:58 PM

I don't get the "hate" on Boucher in our very own board lately.

If he's available, he would be my #1 pick.

Jack Bourdain 01-24-2012 05:05 PM

Great coach, but by getting rid of JM, Cammalleri and bringing in Bourque, I thought we were all fed up with the midgets and the defensive style of hockey, and that the fans in the Bell Center were bored this season?

Not true. At all. In fact its the furthest thing from the truth.

NewHabsEra* 01-24-2012 05:52 PM

********.. Boucher and Yserman or on the same page, anybody know Lightning lack quality depth in their line-up, especially on D, Boucher made an incredible job with this team last year while they were full of gaps.. Now the reality hit this team, just like the Habs hit a wall as well.. With the present parity in this league, your on ice product has to be extremmely good if you wanna make the playoffs, Habs actually lack depth as well on D and lack top end talents up front.. The positives, our drafting reccord is pretty good, Timmins can draft future NHLers in every rounds, our prospect pool on D is now very interesting and we already have some young and very touted kids like Eller Pac Subban Price in the line-up.. Just build around those kids and spend your money smarter on the UFA market.. No more Gomez, Cammalleri Spacek, Kaberle.. just await for the right opportunities to sign charactere guys.. If you cant get one, no prob, save the money be patient and play the kids.. Follow that guideline and it will pay at the end..

shutehinside 01-24-2012 05:58 PM

I wouldn't want either of them. Why not go after a seasoned, respected coach who's won championships and knows how to get a team to the next level.
We don't need a rookie, we need a vet!

Could you at least expand on this?

This. was always hopeful that Boucher would start his career somewhere else and come to us after a while. I wouldn't of expected if it's only after a year and a half, but with situation we are in, he's definitely best possible solution. Given that he's already worked with some of the players on this roster, this will be great move. IF.

FlyingKostitsyn 01-24-2012 06:03 PM

I'd trust the opinion of a random poster here before anything Garrioch says.

JHabs 01-24-2012 06:07 PM

If Boucher is available you jump him like a frat boy on free beer.

Analyzer 01-24-2012 06:17 PM

Yes, Garrioch would make **** up.

habsrule22 01-24-2012 06:37 PM

anybody know if he used the 1-3-1 in Hamilton alot.

I heard this from more credible sources like Lebrun and Co. on the hotstove. They were talking about how the players are not really listening to boucher anymore. If true, you really have to think that yzerman will let him go because its easier to replace the coach than to replace the team. It doesnt matter how much yzerman likes boucher if the players aren't responding to him.

Given Boucher's familiarity with our players, and how much those players enjoyed playing for him, I think this could be a real coup for Montreal. Of course, you got to hire a GM first (potentially).

Undertakerqc 01-24-2012 06:43 PM

This guy would make a great replacement for Cunneyworth
