Just after the 3 minute mark of the 12 minute clip.

Beastman* 01-25-2012 07:24 PM

Killem Dafoe 01-25-2012 07:25 PM

He's not overpaid at $5.3M but he is at 10 more full seasons.

omglolnub 01-25-2012 07:27 PM

Jeff Carter is 100% available...

...for a ridiculous over-payment :sarcasm:

Richiebottles 01-25-2012 07:28 PM

Well I could see the Habs being interested.... Don't know who else would.

Riseonfire 01-25-2012 07:29 PM

Yeaaahhh... not sure what kind of team is going to take this guy. Its almost like saying DP is 100% available..

Sh00terMcGavin 01-25-2012 07:29 PM

The Kings should try to get him.

Naych_PHX 01-25-2012 07:30 PM

Gee... I'm shocked it didn't work out.

Except that one is playing and the other one isn't.

Rivet52 01-25-2012 07:31 PM

I still think it'd be a big mistake for the Jackets to give up on him this early. They make a blockbuster trade to acquire him only seven months ago and give up significant assets of both the present and the future and after an injury-plagued year want to ship him out of town.

Nash and Carter didn't work like everyone hoped but there's no reason to not try them on separate lines. Carter's got some issues but guys like him don't come along all the time. Players of Carter's ilk are a rarity and will come at a hefty price. Carter's contract isn't necessarily bad, it's just long.

Pierre Dagenais 01-25-2012 07:31 PM

Gomez for Carter

The Flyers got rid of both carter and Richards because they were locker room cancers together. I doubt LA reunites them.

Matt Ryan 01-25-2012 07:31 PM

no one wants to build a team out of that

Gagnefan924 01-25-2012 07:31 PM

People make it sound like he is such an albatross. Guy is guaranteed 30+ goals if he's healthy and thats for 10 more years most likely. Yea so horrible. Let the awful trade proposals ensue. All I gotta say is, JJ and Bernier for Carter.

Those cancers almost won a Stanley Cup together though. It's risky, but the Kings need some scoring.

Hemsky4PM 01-25-2012 07:32 PM

How about to NYI for Dipeitro. JK.

OK, but seriously, there are some other players with terrible contracts out there that the Jackets could deal with.

How about to the Rangers for Wade Redden and Brandon Dubinsky? I doubt the Jackets will be very happy with what they would get in return for Carter. They really did the Flyers a huge solid.

I'm amazed at people saying they wouldn't take him.

I hope Nashville is in for the right price, but it is Columbus

I completely agreed with your post, until your actual proposal.

CarvinSigX 01-25-2012 07:33 PM

I just hope a team like Detroit doesn't get him. If he played like he used to, that team would be ridiculous.

EarlGrey 01-25-2012 07:33 PM

Wanna bet he is going to Toronto? Burke is looking for a Center. Carter is from Ontario...seems like a fit.

parabola 01-25-2012 07:33 PM

On a team that ISN'T struggling, he'd be well worth that 5.3 mil.

He's actually worth serious value. His cap hit is really low. That value is terrible. Defenseman and goalies is what Columbus needs.

I think that Nashville is a team who could get him FOR SURE. They need a guy who can score and they have assets to give up to get him.
