Lashoff

This may start a chorus of "WHO GIVE A FLYING @#$%" but I was wondering what happened to Lashoff. I know that he was playing for the Marlies but he's only played 9 games for them this year. Is he injured?

The reason that I ask is that if the Leafs were to trade a Dman or two then ran into injury problems then he could be a guy with NHL experience to bring up late in the season. Mind you he would obviously get limited ice time. The cap hit would be cheap.

Season ending injury.

I think he still has potential, liked his game last year.

From what I recall he didn't look out of place playing with the Leafs last season.

Ya I didn't mind his game either. Wilson must have a problem though.

Injured in an all you can eat pancake contest.

I am a huge Lashoff fan , when we had the rash of injuries early on in the year it would of been a perfect time for him to come up and play a few games but he got injured and is out for the whole year .. really sucks i can see Burke resigning him for next season.. i Just love his game and what he bring to the table reminds me of Gunnarsson

I'd have to re-evaluate his game if/when he gets called up again. I think my initial impressions of him may have been tainted by the fact that he was replacing Lebda in the lineup.

I don't get the raves about his play last season. Looked like an AHLer to me.

it's called OMG He Is A Maple Leaf Overrate Disease... Lashoff was not bad last year with the Leafs. it's not like he will be a top 4 guy. Lashoff is a bottom pairing type of guy who could maybe slide in the 4 hole on the back-end. Lashoff can also play on the PK2 but limited on the offence.

But really I think if a Dman is traded it will be Kolzer who get's the call, he is ready and in all likelyness it would not shock me if 1 or 2 dman went out but 1 or 2 dman cameback in.

Yeah Lashoff was smooth to

Man Bear Pig 02-04-2012 09:06 AM

Depth guy. Meh.

Jeffler 02-04-2012 10:28 AM

Injured on October 30th. Patrick Bordeleau from Lake Erie for whatever reason decided his plan for the night was going to be to injured Lashoff, as he took 4 or 5 runs at him. The last one worked and took out his knee.

Technically, it's not "season ending", but out for 6 months makes it essentially so. Could be back if the Marlies make a lengthy playoff run.

Personally, I hope so - he was rapidly improving as a defenceman, and was easily the team's best offensive D when he got injured. Losing him was huge. If not NHL capable (and I think he is), he's a top tier AHLer.

Remember how the bandwagon were talking about Keith Aulie last summer? Lashoff hasn't been buried for half a season in the AHL so there's no evidence to refute any inflated status like there is with Aulie.

Uhh, what?

Lashoff's reputation is at an all time low with the Leafs. He used to be touted as a potential top defenceman, but people have given up since.

Secondarily, OFFENSIVELY LIMITED? The big dig on him until last year was that he was a one dimension offensive defenceman, like a really poor man's Mike Green. Your description is literally the opposite of every other one, ever.

And Kolzer? Enough said
