I've got an idea....don't trade anyone

Let it ride with these young guys!

Aftcomet* 02-04-2012 08:24 PM

Until we play Boston, then you'll be calling for the entire team to be gutted...

RaskY 02-04-2012 08:28 PM

When we win, all is well in Leafland! Don't trade anyone! Extend Wilson! This team is great!

When we lose...This team is a ****ing joke. Burke is a ****ing piece of ****! Blow this **** up! Might as well ****ing tank!

Chandrashekhar Limit 02-04-2012 08:32 PM

your classic bi-polar leaf fan

we still need another big body on our top 6

if we play against a good team with size, we are gonna get man handled

Mr Lahey* 02-04-2012 08:37 PM

We need help up front...

I agree for forwards but we should trade defencemen to add to our top 6. Anybody suggesting dealing Grabovski.. I dont even know what to say. I hear them speculating alot on it, ya.. that would make sence..

wichitaleafs 02-04-2012 08:39 PM

Your right a need a big forward. Just don't give up to much.

LeafsFan2342 02-04-2012 09:00 PM

There is always room for improvement and it would have to come via trade at this point

Patty Lee 02-04-2012 09:02 PM

that's not your idea. many people said there will not be anything big done before this year's deadline. changes will be made in the summer and MAYBE a small deal.

Pyromaniac3 02-04-2012 09:03 PM

Need to get rid of Komi and Lombardi, then you can stop trading.

Lombardi is not going anywhere. and I would be very surprised if Komi does. BB loves having a number of D; especially if it looks they are going to post season.

Pretty much this.

We can't be relying on Grabo, Lupol and Kessel to produce our points. Thats why its called a top six, right now its a Top four (throw Kuli in, even though he is not producing).

p.l.f. 02-04-2012 09:19 PM

not a bad idea

what if colborne and mueller become those big top 6 forwards we need
or if kadri keeps improving

HockeyThoughts 02-04-2012 09:26 PM

Stick to the plan we've had all season:

Only make a trade if the opportunity presents itself to make the team better now, and in the future.

People have been wondering why Burke hasn't acquired anyone through trade this season? Its because he doesn't feel the need to force a trade with the Leafs performing as well as they have thus far. If you can get Carter cheap? You go for it. If Getzlaf or Staal is truly available? You go for it. That kinda stuff. He isn't going to make a trade for the sake of making a trade.

TheOneArmedMan 02-04-2012 09:29 PM

Just trade Tim Connoly. He hasn't been playing well at all. He had a good first half of the season but he is sucking now.

magnet43 02-04-2012 09:30 PM

ahhhhh.........just wait till we lose. Then this thread will become 1000000000x more popular.

Agreed. It is highly unlikely that Burke will deviate from his plans and make a trade that he does not feel will make the team better in the short term and will not hurt us in the long run. No one can push Burke around and I doubt he will "panic" for any reason. I would like a deal to help get us into the playoff and would be overjoyed if Burke could land someone useful to our roster with one of our extra defensemen but I will not be overly concerned if we don't do anything of note.

That said, re-signing Grabovski would we an excellent move for Burke to make without actually making a move:naughty:.

Hero 02-04-2012 09:44 PM

Lambo - Connoly - Armstrong

and watch the magic happen. Turn all our over paid guys into one super line.

Kessely Snipes 02-04-2012 09:51 PM

We all want the big trade, but I would be reluctant to trade the future, even our top six is looking up the last few games.

We all know if Burke thinks it will make the team better, he will pull the trigger.

Brown Dog 02-04-2012 09:52 PM

Would rather see nothing than a move for a supporting player. Burke is better off saving his assets for a monster move for that first line centre we still lack.

Agreed. A true 1st line player or very good scoring player or no move. Highly doubt guys like Stoll in exchange for Connolly makes us better.

Well I just hope that if Burke is getting rid of someone I want it to be Connolly. Everyone is saying we might loose Grabovski but he is a much better player than Connolly.
