Hawks shopping for Goalie

He reported this on TSN.

Your suggestion?

oilers83 02-09-2012 06:24 AM

Khabibulin for McNeil + cap dump

Pavelec4MVP 02-09-2012 06:36 AM

Tim Thomas to Chicago.

Didnt he say something controversial again the other day?

Maybe Boston has enough of this stuff, and moves him before it borks the team up.

Adrian05 02-09-2012 06:38 AM

Goaltending is one of problems Chicago, but defense is an even bigger problem. IMO improving the defense will improving our goaltender...

Wow, now that is just awful.

No thanks a million times.

Nabby, Harding and Vokoun are the best options. I'd prefer Nabby or Vokoun because they are proven starters.

BruinsFan64 02-09-2012 08:48 AM

Tim Thomas and Krecji for Kane.

Caballo Blanco 02-09-2012 08:54 AM

Thomas, Seidenberg, Caron, 1st

for

Emery, Hjalmarsson, Sharp, Olsen, 7th

Why would Washington trade their starter when they are fighting to keep their playoff spot ?

Cap implications aside - this is a interesting proposal.

Briecheeze 02-09-2012 09:01 AM

Backstrom might be available. Kiprusoff if the Flames ever decide to rebuild. Nittymaki could be had for [practically] nothing...

AndMat* 02-09-2012 09:05 AM

Sad tsn calls this 1 day after nick Kypreos does

They probably don't, but with Holtby in the system, I could see why they would. Backstrom may not be back this year.

Rabid Ranger 02-09-2012 09:13 AM

If Crawford/Emery isn't cutting it, why would the Hawks waste assets on non-upgrades? I would think this would be a ploy to land a top-notch goalie.

Because everything revolves around the hawks, don't you know that.

There is no such thing as a non-upgrade over the way these guys have played this year. Nabby, Harding, guys in that class are a big step up.

All I'm saying is there is a lot of potential for lateral moves but not so much for significant upgrades.

nickschultzfan 02-09-2012 09:20 AM

The Wild and Hawks might be good trading partners.

Goalies: Backstrom or Harding is available. The Wild can only keep one after this season.

Depth Dmen: Zidlicky and Zanon are available.

Center: Cullen would be available (but he does have a no-trade clause).

Not sure what the Hawks would send back though.

I'm glad you threw in the 7th, or else the value would have been way off

Problem is Vokoun probably isn't going to be available, and Nabokov's availability depends on the next 10 games for the Isles.

There aren't many options available that are clear upgrades. Obviously St Louis and Vancouver each have two capable goalies, but I can't see either one helping out a team they could meet in the playoffs. And I don't see Boston moving Thomas either.

How about JS Giguere. Still a question mark based on recent history, but he has put up good numbers and has Cup experience.

Rangers can solve the problem, but ya gotta pay.

Biron + Sauer + Rangers 2012 2nd
for
Olsen, McNeil + CBH 2012 1st

You have options on juggling Khabi, Crawford + Emery for best return, though probably move Emery now + go w/ 3 the rest of the way + whoever has the hot hand.

Rangers need to add a couple more prospects, need depth in 2 years. This achieves that.

blackhawks1229 02-09-2012 09:23 AM

I'd be cool with Nabokov for a prospect but not much else. I really think we need a dman

The Flin Flon Bomber 02-09-2012 09:26 AM
