Trade Proposal Thread 8.0 "NHL 12 reigns supreme!"

Realized I was post 1,002 in the other thread, put too much work into it to have it lost in a locked thread.

Thread title subject to change

Sellers (IMO, with pending UFA's of each team...I understand some of these guys may be hurt, I'm listing everyone) Bolded for your viewing pleasure are names I could see Sather inquiring about. I don't think Sather looks to add anyone to the team that has a contract beyond this year, unless he really believes he can help the team now and in the future. A guy like Bobby R. comes to mind there.

Columbus (why they re-signed Prospal is just beyond me...why not get value and bring him back as a free agent?)

Wait, is the thread title true?

SupersonicMonkey* 02-10-2012 11:52 AM

Bobby Ryan
Jeff Carter
Tuomo Ruutu
Ryan Whitney
Ryan Smyth
Boyd Gordon
Paul Gaustad

Is my forwards wish list in order from huge deal to less expensive deal.

Nash's cap hit is far too high, so I didn't include him. These guys all have an annual cap hit under 6 mil.

SupersonicMonkey* 02-10-2012 11:54 AM

I don't know what defensemen are/would be available.

SomebodySaveKreider 02-10-2012 12:36 PM

This thread title is amazing.

So now I'm on the Whitney bandwagon...

Jabroni 02-10-2012 12:37 PM

So, who are viable options for the Rangers?

Yep, I think it's more likely we land Parise via trade than Whitney. The Yotes aren't moving him. They need to make the playoffs. Even just two extra home games is huge for them.

ChrisKreider20 02-10-2012 12:42 PM

Step 1: Edit a player
Step 2: Set all NYR players to 99 everything.

??????

Profit?????

Yah know what's funny, after you posted this, I just looked at the standings, and didn't realize that Phoenix was at the 8th spot. I thought they were still out of it. That is not a possibility after all.

I'm not saying to sell the farm, but I hate the idea of us sitting, but if the asking price for Ruutu is that high, we may just have to wait for Free Agency, which absolutely kills me, because this team, if another scorer is added, has a real chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

Sometimes I don't understand the Rangers beat writers...I also think they're blackballing me since none of them respond to my mentions/questions

Who gives a crap how old he is, dude has 50 points...I also have no idea with what being old has to do with being a rental  A more reasonable response would have been "PHX in 8th, will probably add not sell"

Would have loved to follow Weinman in the Twitter era

Why don't we go after Grabovski?

Because the Laughs are probably making the playoffs. They're in eighth right now, although knowing them, they probably finish 1 pt out.

Rangerfan4life90 02-10-2012 12:58 PM

I truly hope we can nab Selanne at the deadline. The Ducks are like 12 points out of the 8th spot.

NYR Viper 02-10-2012 12:58 PM

I am going with guesses of:

Gaustad and Kubina

Just saw this - Stars interested in Dubinsky Some very loose speculation about a deal from Dallas sending Dubi for Eriksson coming our way. A 1 to 1 deal is certainly a "YES" imo. What would we be willing to add - if anything - to make this go through? And is there any plausible reason that Dallas would do something like this?

Dont know why Dallas would even entertain that.

Sorry, where does it say that the Stars are interested in Dubinksy? All I see is an article posted by the Stars beat writer who says the team should consider him. What am I missing?

Dubinsky + Sauer + 1st '12 for Eriksson

Dubinsky + Fasth + 1st '12 + Bickel for Eriksson. Heck - they can even have Avery back as a "throwin" since they are paying him anyway ;)

NY would have to add significantly...

Dubi, Hagelin 1st at the very least...

He is a lefthanded shot and has played on both left and right wing throughout his career.... see here

As to your first question - you are most probably right. Why make this move?
