King and Nolan recalled; Slava assigned; Stoll to IR

Wow. Slava was a ****ing dumb move but the other 3 I am very happy about. Finally some big boys who will throw their weight around.

Live in the Now 02-10-2012 12:37 PM

Stoll to IR is good news, the Slava move is a total unjustifiable joke. King and Nolan up is good.

KingKopitar11* 02-10-2012 12:38 PM

WOAH what the hell. Why slava? are they for real.

I have a feeling this will be the general consensus. King and Nolan have been very good for Manchester and I'm REALLY excited to see Nolan play. I think the guy could really help improve the 4th line.

Brad Doty 02-10-2012 12:38 PM

What. The. ****. on Slava. He's going to leave this joke of an organization. How many other teams would kill for this guy? At some point, they're not improving in the AHL.

Stoll to IR, eh. Nolan up has me excited. King up has me excited to see how he's improved.

But my god, am I ever pissed about Voynov going back down.

Seventyx7 02-10-2012 12:39 PM

Voynov really... That offset my excitement about a line-up without Stoll.

CTKingsFan 02-10-2012 12:40 PM

Wow.. surprised by Voynov

But maybe a message to the veterans is being sent. I'd tell them if you don't want to play then they are (the kids) or maybe it's just an injury replacement. Although calling two of them up is odd.

We shall see....

I'm going to the game tomorrow and I think I'm staying at the same hotel as the Kings will be staying at tonight, so hopefully I calm down from last night lost before I have "When keeping it real goes wrong" moment.

cheap77 02-10-2012 12:40 PM

Voynov? WTF.

King... Meh.. He didn't help the last few times he was here.

Nolan should be interesting to see.

Stoll. Thank god. Nice guy, but he has been terrible this year.

DAkings20 02-10-2012 12:41 PM

Sending Slava down is ****ing idiotic. Have they not seen the way below average play of Martinez the last 3 games?

King and Nolan up is fine but I would have liked to see a guy like Kozun get a shot.

Stoll is whatever

Can't believe they sent Voynov down though, he's probably the best D-men in terms of getting shots on net and quite frankly I would rather have him running the PP than DD or JJ. Moves like this make our suckage even worse, at least let probably our brightest prospect continue to develop at this level.

Jason Lewis 02-10-2012 12:41 PM

I'll echo the sentiments. Slava down is stupid. (But A-mart has been pretty good). King and Nolan up. **** yes.

When is poor Cliche going to get his shot?

He was up for 6 games on a single call up and TM stuck him with Kopi and Brown on the first line. HIS FIRST NHL GAMES. That has been his only call up. Talk about playing out of your element. He is 3rd/4th line material.

So "the last few times he was here.." is kind of incorrect.

King was asked to play first line duties. That is not his role. If he's on the 3rd or 4th lines, I will be very happy. And I feel most people hopefully will be too.

Johnny Utah 02-10-2012 12:43 PM

They might just be showcasing Martinez for a trade.

Love seeing Nolan get a shot.

Holden Caulfield 02-10-2012 12:43 PM

Party at Johnny Utah's! :sarcasm:

I got a feeling that Voynov is a temp roster move while DL waits for something to give somewhere else. He'll be back real soon.

or Kozun. They Should of brought up Kozun instead of King.

Fat Elvis 02-10-2012 12:44 PM

Slava going down is a short term move I believe. Too much talent to stay down and too much talent to sit. I'm thinking a move will be made dealing one of LA's extra dmen and Slava will be back for good.

Stoll going IR disappoints me. I was wishing he'd be moved.

It'll be interesting to see which lines King and Nolan will play.

CTKingsFan 02-10-2012 12:44 PM

On the 2nd thought maybe this a showcase move.....? For both other teams and the Kings. To see what guys like Nolan, King, and Martinez have...?

The Voynov move is just really confusing. The other thing I can think of is they wanted to bring up 2 forwards but not risk losing someone on waivers... *shrug*

sjmay* 02-10-2012 12:44 PM

Voynov was probably sent down to get playing time as they will more than likely be showcasing Alec Martinez for a possible trade,

But don't let logic get in the way of a good witch hunt...

DAkings20 02-10-2012 12:45 PM

And I hope Nolan at least plays, maybe he'll show some of these "veterans" how to play with energy.

tomd 02-10-2012 12:45 PM

guys - as much as I think the organization is incompetent they could be sending Voynov down for the weekend since the team will be in New York then recall him after that.

this makes total sense if they are planning to play Martinez tomorrow. why have Voynov sit when he can play 3 games for Manchester?

My bad. I thought it was 6 games over 2 call ups. Oh well.. he still didn't help.

Dean must be seeing what he can replace from within. Wonder if he is getting ready to trade a couple guys soon.

I was just abut to post the same thing. I realized...oh we are playing in NY tomorrow..that's damn close to Manchester. Might just be a weekend call up/send down for all players involved. Nolan and King play the same role...so maybe whichever does the better job this weekend gets the spot for Stoll...and then the other will be swapped for Voynov on the re-assign on over the weekend.

I agree but if they really are showcasing Martinez, they certainly aren't adding to his value as his play is no where near the beginning of this season.

Capn Brown 02-10-2012 12:47 PM

Net front presence!!! :handclap:

KingKopitar11* 02-10-2012 12:48 PM

I really hope A-mart is getting showcased, I hope he does well, cause he needs to be gone, Voynov is more talented, A-mart can be a total bonehead at times.
