Given the option July 1st, who do you sign for under 1 mil contract:

Tom Kostopoulos

or

Mathieu Darche

In my head i'm thinking it's close, but who knows. Just asking who you'd rather have as the 12-13th guy basically.

Mover 02-13-2012 07:49 PM

Tom all the way, man.
Gotta love that guy.

overlords 02-13-2012 07:51 PM

kosto!

MasterDecoy 02-13-2012 07:58 PM

i like what darche brings to the table on most nights (when he's not overused in the wrong roles. if he'd only add fighting to his repertoire) and i don't remember tom very well so im gonna abstain

snakeye 02-13-2012 08:01 PM

Kostopoulos was great, but I think Darche is much more effective.

Darche doesn't fight, but neither players can win one. :sarcasm:

ThaDevilGirl 02-13-2012 08:07 PM

Darche is better...

Jack Bourdain 02-13-2012 08:13 PM

Kosto no question asked. Similar offensive output, but Kostopoulos was a fan favorite and played with intensity and passion (and more adjectives).

Kjell Dahlin 02-13-2012 08:15 PM

I voted Darche (the guy gives it all and has an underrated hockey IQ) but I was also a fan of Kostopoulos. Damn I miss the Latendresse - Lapierre - Kostopoulos line!

Andy 02-13-2012 08:17 PM

Kostopoulos was one of my favorite players while he was here. I'd love him back.

Private Encounter 02-13-2012 08:23 PM

Easily Tom Kostopoulos for me.

Habs 4 Life 02-13-2012 08:23 PM

Darche, yup can't believe I'm saying him

Gally11 02-13-2012 08:24 PM

Kantstopoulos

yoteshot 02-13-2012 08:28 PM

I loved TKO, but I think Darche brings more to the table. With the likes of Moen, White, Schultz(?) on the team, I think Darche is a better presence to have. Though I wouldn't mind TKO as a 13-14th forward.

99GoHabsGo99* 02-13-2012 08:31 PM

Darche

Beendair Donedat 02-13-2012 09:00 PM

Kostopolous easily.

Dr_Hook 02-13-2012 09:20 PM

Darche is more versatile. Kosto is younger and can drop em.

I think I bring back Kosto.

Beakermania* 02-13-2012 09:23 PM

Kostopolous easily.

LyricalLyricist 02-13-2012 10:08 PM

Very close.

Blind Gardien 02-13-2012 10:12 PM

What's the rest of our roster look like? I could see making offers to both. I'd rather have TKO if I could only have one, but I don't think the two should be considered mutually exclusive.

Ohashi_Jouzu 02-13-2012 10:55 PM

Whew, this is actually close. I think they're at about the same level, all said. Darche is a bit older, but T.Kost comes with that "repeat offender" tag, which is significant for a guy in today's NHL that is asked to play a defensive/aggressive game for the most part. If it's just 1 year we have to commit to in this scenario, I think I'd "gamble" with Darche, to be honest. I did like Kostopoulos when he was here though... tough call.

Aspirine 02-13-2012 10:58 PM

The grass is always greener blablablah...
I think people tend to forget how miserably bad Tom K was here.

This will always be TK's crowning moment as a Hab.

I hope you're talking about his fight because TKO was an effective player for us.

eaglesmaster 02-14-2012 12:34 AM

Kostopoulos hands down, if we had a team of Kostopoulos we would win the cup, right Guy Carbonneau
