Game #61 2/23 St. Louis at Nashville
Half ass for the win? I think so! With the Blues coming off 2 straight losses, it's time to buck up and get the road win they need.

Edit: Of course I would derp up on my first GDT. Thread title fixed. ;)

Who is in net tonight? GO BLUES!!!!:yo:

This is a big game that will tell us a lot about this team. I thought they competed extremely hard against an outstanding Eastern team (easily the toughest Eastern opponent the Blues have faced this year by a mile) and were shown where the true bar is if they want to be champs. Whereas earlier in the week I thought the back-to-backness of it might be a problem, here I think it's actually beneficial, just because of how last night went down. I think the Blues will come out flying tonight.

Nashville is playing some great hockey right now, so this will be a battle of who is willing to commit to whatever it takes to win. The Blues should be aware of how likely a future meeting with the Preds is. A lot of bad runs need to break tonight. Losses against Nashville, Hitchcock against Trotz, results against the Central, results on the road in back to backs. A win would be huge for the Blues' confidence and given the importance of the road trip I'd feel good heading into the next three games.

A loss and they should be very surly all around. It would be the first time I'd have to say, yeah, they're still not ready to win a playoff series against a tough opponent.

Preds win 2-0 (suter, rinne). Rinne also makes 106 saves on 106 shots.

Should be Halak. He was scheduled to start unless he's still too sick.

trevorftw 02-23-2012 01:40 PM

Blues forwards play a mean game tonight. Come from behind 3-2 win.

illninofan* 02-23-2012 01:44 PM

Detroit is also playing Vancouver.

A win tonight and a detroit loss brings the points deficit down to three points with a game in hand.

Gotta capitalize.

The Note 02-23-2012 02:21 PM

At some point they've gotta figure Rinne out....right? :help:

frostyflo 02-23-2012 02:29 PM

Two good series ended yesterday, now its time for us to end a bad one! LETS GO BLUES!

Dolph Ziggler 02-23-2012 03:00 PM

1-0 Preds. Rinne stops 315 shots and nuclear warheads from Iran and North Korea in the process

h22prelude93 02-23-2012 03:03 PM

I know it's the Preds, but I have a real good feeling about this one. We know we can outplay this team, and the Blues have to be fired up and looking for redemption after yesterday's home loss. We've got this people, I'm going with a 3-1 Blues win...Go Blues!!!

GOBLUES4257 02-23-2012 03:37 PM

Anyone know the lines for tonight?

Iron Fist 02-23-2012 04:09 PM

Time to see what this team is made of. Let's Go Blues!

The Note 02-23-2012 04:12 PM

Arnott hattrick callin it :naughty:

Use the Schwartz* 02-23-2012 04:20 PM

Under 4.5 goals please!

Any of those please to both teams.

Alklha 02-23-2012 04:45 PM

I'll call a 5-1 win tonight. Good feeling going into this game.

Sushiko 02-23-2012 05:02 PM

The losing streak continues, I feel. Rinne won't be in net; no one will be, Rinne will stop them all from his couch at home by thinking about the puck. A couple of the Preds might take a nap late in the 2nd period as well.

PocketNines 02-23-2012 05:17 PM

I think the Blues will play very aggressively in this game. Hopefully it'll be a solid "let them play" game because although the Blues have been getting great puck movement lately on the PP, you don't want to get in a special teams battle with the Preds' power play.

Blues need a win if only to stop the out of control Rinne mythmaking that's going on around here. Blues are .611 against Rinne in Nashville in nine games lifetime. Fact.

Bruv 02-23-2012 05:25 PM

603-0 Blues!!!

TomWaits 02-23-2012 05:32 PM

604-0!!! Backes career night 490 points!!

ComradeRuskie 02-23-2012 05:44 PM

Blues must win! For Halak's 100th! :handclap:

It starts tonight :naughty:

PocketNines 02-23-2012 06:08 PM

Over the course of a full season, the Blues' lifetime .611 against Rinne in Nashville would give them just over 100 points and a playoff berth every single year. Fact.

SoulChaser17 02-23-2012 06:12 PM

Rinne will be the only Predator on the ice. He'll stop a thousand shots and still manage to score by getting a deflection off of every Blues player.

More crappy audio from FSMW. Hey, it’s clipping Mr. engineer, do something, it sounds horrible.
