Tweet by Armstrong's brother (Riley Armstrong)
@rilesarmy
"a coach has to know how to motivate his players and you can tell the fire is gone. And then the ACC boos their team off the ice #change" |
i think it is within the fans right to boo them .
|
From rest of his tweets that I read last night, he looks butt hurt that his bro was scratched so long. Either that, or he is trolling Twitter.

|
That seems like a pretty volatile thing to say about the team your brother plays for. I bet it gets deleted if it picks up media traction.
|
NHL players shouldn't need motivating.
|
He's right, there's seems to be no motivation at all, the fire is out, there's no fight in them and I think it boils down to the coach
|
If an NHL player needs a coach to motivate them, they aren't much of a professional.

1) player should be self-motivated.
2) yes fire is gone time for a change 3) glad they booed those bums off the ice. |
I like Armstrong very much as a player. Under Wilson his confidence has been destroyed, the same way he has done it to Schenn, Kadri, the Monster, etc. What this team needs is 10 players with the heart of Colby and his grit. Problem is Wilson loves to play turn-the-other-cheek hockey, and he has conned Burke into filling the team with soft, pretty skating players.
|
He said it would be nice if Colby could be trraded to a contender.

Tony Ambrogio @SNTonyAmbrogio
RT: @JSportsnet- For all those asking, there is no chance that Brian Burke is even contemplating a change behind the bench. #SNtrade |
Being in a Playoff Race should be motivating enough.
Looks like they are playing scared to me. |

NHL players are human too. Humans need motivating. If things don't go well in the workplace and your boss or supervisor can't show any leadership or come up with a way to solve the issues, should he still have his position? I'd say no.
There is a clear lack of leadership from the coaching staff and team of captains. There needs to be a change. The coach may choose to throw a certain player (Reimer, for example) under the bus, but how long can you blame the players for such a horrid stretch of hockey when the only constant in the past few years of failure has been the coach? It seems that no matter what players are brought in, this team cannot perform at a high level and I would certainly think a coaching change should at least see them play a bit more competitive. |
