We’re fighting for a spot right now. We need to be happy with that game, but also understand why we performed as well as we did. (on the special-teams effort…) Our power play got some goals, and I think our PK was probably the most impressive thing. We had to kill off penalty after penalty. You’ve got guys blocking shots, doing all the little things that make the PK successful. (on what was different tonight…) I think our preparation. Everyone is capable of playing. It’s more about getting prepared the right way, and that’s as individuals and as a team, collectively. When you see that we’re prepared right, you don’t see the turnovers, you don’t see the little mistakes that make a big difference over the course of a game. We didn’t make very many mistakes tonight. (on his hat trick…) I hope to build on it. I think we’ve been struggling as a team, and I’ve been struggling personally, to score goals. It definitely felt good to score some goals tonight, and hopefully build on that. As a team, we’ve just got to focus on what I just touched on, getting into those scoring areas. I think if we get into those scoring areas more often, we’ll start scoring goals. (on hearing his name in trade rumors…) I’ve been a King my whole career and I expect to be a King beyond the next few days. … It’s my responsibility to prepare myself the best I can and tonight felt good."

Obviously, if you look around at the players in this (locker) room, everybody has got some offensive talents. For whatever reason, they haven’t been going in, but hopefully it’s a sign of good things to come. (on his whirlwind season…) It’s been an interesting year, with two trades in six months or whatever it’s been. I couldn’t be happier right now. I’m on a great team, a team that has a chance to do some big things here. I’m just excited. (on playing for the Kings…) The defensive game is so structured, where everybody’s on the same page making simple plays and give-and gos. It makes a big difference. It’s pretty easy to jump with the other guys. (on his nerves tonight…) I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit nervous. It was kind of a battle for me tonight. (After) the last couple days, it was a grind out there. I’m glad we got the two points. That’s the main thing."

On the power play early, Jarret Stoll and Brownie were really effective on it. (on what was different in Brown’s game…) He was going to the net, really good. When he was taking his shots, that’s where he was going. Not across, or anywhere else, just straight that way. That’s the type of player he is. That’s always how he’s been. It gets overlooked. He scored in both games when we were gone. Confidence is a good thing. You just have to stay with it. That’s what you try to do. (on Brown thriving despite trade rumors…) That’s why they have a trade deadline, right? And usually the rumors are really good players’ names. Somebody starts a little thing, and it just kind of rolls. … I’ve talked to these guys about the week, and the day of the deadline. There’s nothing you can do about it. If you let it be a distraction, it effects your game. It’s hard not to, but you can’t let it effect your preparation or anything like that. That’s got nothing to do with Brownie’s game. We have a group of guys that have to understand that their leadership is going to impact what we do in the next six or seven weeks here. Obviously he understood what we were talking about. (on Jeff Carter’s game…) Early, he was really good and he showed good offensive instincts. He jumped to holes and he did a good job of killing penalties. I think he would also tell you that he was probably played out. He skated, what, once in four days? With the trade part of it, and all the medical part of it, I mean, he was in Indianapolis yesterday, as part of the medical. He’s got his miles covered."

This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

I suspect you meant "span", but I'm having some fun mental images about what a "spam of must win games" might entail :)

Can't wait. Looking good. Get it done. GO KINGS!

Jack Johnson with a -2

Kings 4-1.

Kings are about to go on a 7-1-2 run and solidify a playoff position.

KingsKnight 02-27-2012 12:28 PM

This will be a tough battle tonight. Boys better be ready to go to war.

This won't come easy, Go Kings GO!

Seventyx7 02-27-2012 02:47 PM

Time to rattle off 6-7 wins in a row. Let's ****ing ride.

Fishhead 02-27-2012 02:53 PM

We'll see right away if the team we saw Saturday was the actual Kings or not. Nashville is always on a tear at home. Their D gets even more ridiculous when they get to choose the match-ups.

DryIslandBartender 02-27-2012 03:35 PM

:handclap: Richie to Carter for a goal tonight!

DAkings20 02-27-2012 03:53 PM

We need two points. Carter pots 4.

KINGS17 02-27-2012 03:55 PM

Need big games again from Brown and Stoll.

It sure would be nice if Kopitar decides to get off more than one shot tonight.

CNS 02-27-2012 04:00 PM

Boy I'm glad we play them today before Gaustad and Kostitsyn get in the lineup. Another effort like last night and we'll win 2-0 (since Nashville actually has a goalie and a great one at that).

Sydor25 02-27-2012 04:08 PM

I know people are disappointed in the Kings bottom six so far (and wanted players traded), but there is still a lot of potential in this lineup, especially if Gagne comes back:

If Penner and Stoll play like they did against Chicago, the Kings can do some damage.

Huge test tonight against Nashville.

ZJames 02-27-2012 04:15 PM

Kings have scored 9 goals in the last 3 games... Can they keep it up?

outofrange 02-27-2012 04:17 PM

I am praying to all the gods that we win this one.

Tough, tough test but we NEED the two points.
