VHL (Vysshaya Hokkeinaya Liga) 2011-12 season

Since there is a thread about the KHL ongoing season, and another one about the MHL season, why not have one about the VHL season? I know it's pretty late for that, but organizations cycle players from and to VHL teams with players coming from KHL or MHL teams, and sometimes Pervaya Liga teams.

On a sidenote, hope that the VHL playoffs will be good this year around.

Well, 2 big clubs will meet in the finals, that's a good thing (plus maybe Toros can pull off an upset in the Conference finals). Loko might make some noise.

HotIce quoted Belarussian hockey president Vorsin that OBC is interested in becoming one of the VHL conferences. I doubt that will happen, though they have enough good teams to form a VHL division.

Hmm, this seems like a good idea, Liepaja might join VHL after all without even travelling further than Minsk. :)

Donbas will win it, baring any surprise. Rubin will be in the final, unless they lose to Toros.

Does that mean that the VHL will effectively become an assortment of farm leagues?

Too early to tell. Hockey community will have to wait at least till summer to know for sure.

for the most part it is already is. But a VHL team (correct me if wrong) can only have 3 players at a time from the KHL affiliate?

vorky 03-02-2012 07:50 AM

I think KHL club can send 6 players to VHL farm club.

Quote:

6 to one club
but if you have agreement with more than one vhl club which is allowed, i suppose, you can send up to 10 players
if i understand correctly this quotation

yes, you are right

Mathradio 03-03-2012 09:23 PM

And how many MHL players can a VHL team have? Do they count towards the limit of 6?

Damn, I want Karaganda in KHL. Though I'm surprised Tver don't a VHL team already and team in Vilnius is a good idea too, so their MHL B team could actual ice more local players instead of of those cast-offs from all corners of the globe.

malkinfan 03-05-2012 05:50 PM

So is that an official no go on the conference of Belarus teams. I think that would have been a good idea.

vorky 03-06-2012 02:56 AM

article
some key pts:
- play-off will be played among conferences since conference finals
- 3 KHL clubs (one of them is Dinamo Riga) consider creating VHL affiliate (IMO Lokomotiv + someone)
- Karaganda, Tver, Voronezh, Vilnius, Krasnodar want to join

I have not heard it as well. It is just my idea. CSKA has money, youth players and not farm club. There are KHL clubs dont have VHL farm: Spartak, CSKA, Yugra, Avangard, Amur.

I dont count Riga, Minsk, Barys and HC LEV

not so sure CSKA has money, well not yet.

According to VHL president the league will consist out of 24 teams in the next few years. So only 1 spot is free if no teams are kicked out (Donbass may exchange with Avto or Vityaz, Loko will probably keep a farm).

This statement would very much contradict the article cska78 mentioned.

Allhockey mostly tears up interviews and articles of other sites, which can alter the meaning of original materials sometimes.

Here's a quote of Skoropupov (whole article):
Quote:

Чтобы календарь был сбалансирован, мы приходим к одной цифре – 24 клуба. Сегодня у нас – 23 с "Локомотивом". Соответственно, есть всего две путёвки, а конкурс большой.

Helpoing 03-08-2012 03:03 PM

Wow, Rubin lost.

EDIT: Five series are tied after the first 2 games, that's great.
