So let's start the pool for how long it takes Burke to blame the media for having to fire Wilson.

I'm going to say:

3 minutes, 20 seconds.

Closest without going over wins.

I say he doesn't mention it. Burke would never admit to being pressured until well after he gets canned. Then the blame game would begin.

this is gonna be gold

Originally i thought he'd go into a hour long rant and blame the players , fans and media . While i think this is what he'd love to do , it wouldn't be in the best interest of the team . This why there wasn't a presser on the firing . He was probably advised by cooler heads to play it low key .

I think Burke will say a quick tribute for his bff and then shift the attention to the new coach .

I'm hoping the Montreal media eggs him on and gets him to explode , this would be classic .

Agreed. This is about introducing RC and not the dismissal of RW. Aside from thanking Wilson little more will be mentioned about him.

I assume Carlyle will be there.

Carlyle can deal with the inevitable Lupul question in a simple way that will put it to rest.

"Well, I was wrong about Lupul. I'm looking forward to working with him again."

Otherwise it will simmer and the media will come back to it time and again.

will thank wilson for his years of service to the toronto maple leafs.
players were not responding for the last month, thought he'd go in a different direction.
talk about carlyle and his experience , cup, etc.
will throw carlyle to the wolves after introducing him and passing on the mic.
