Why isn't McDonagh in the Calder discussion?

Is it because he's a defender? Because if that's the argument he's playing as good as any veteran D-man right now.

Because he's not a rookie?

Machinehead 03-06-2012 05:54 PM

I don't believe he's eligible.

If only there was an award for most valuable sophmore lol.

RGY 03-06-2012 05:56 PM

Yeah I think he played enough games last year making him ineligible for the calder discussion.

Nevermind, he did - 40. Should of Wikipedia'd his stats beforehand. haha

GAGLine 03-06-2012 05:59 PM

He played 40 games last year plus another 5 in the playoffs. The cutoff is 25 games, I think.

I think the cutoff is "if a player played at least 40 games", so he just missed it
