I think both will be ok.

Beef Invictus 03-06-2012 09:22 PM

I'm hoping Voracek isn't concussed. I'm probably going to be disappointed

Yes!!!

PJStock* 03-06-2012 09:24 PM

Voracek is a tough kid. He's gotten up from a lot of huge hits layed on him this season. I don't think he will be out for long, if at all.

litflyersfan 03-06-2012 09:25 PM

Hoping for the best, but with the way Jake stiffened up after that hit he's pretty much done for the rest of the season with a serious concussion. Great first year with the Flyers hope next year is even better.

healthyscratch 03-06-2012 09:26 PM

How Jake doesn't have a concussion after being blasted like that is beyond me. I think they need to give him a couple days and see how he feels.

My thoughts exactly.

I will hold off on the excitement until I hear about how he feels tomorrow morning.

Didn't Pronger also not have a concussion the first couple days after getting hit by Grabovski's stick? Voracek is far from out of the woods. We'll see how he feels in the next few days and determine what his immediate future is.

Top Cheese Danish 03-06-2012 09:30 PM

I think Jake's gonna be fine. Staying positive...

Yes, that is my concern as well.

MountainHawk 03-06-2012 09:34 PM

I'd be stunned if he wasn't concussed. Maybe he won't have much PCS and will heal quickly, but there had to be some bruising.

rban* 03-06-2012 09:36 PM

Is it ****ing possible for us to play one g((damn game without losing ten players to injury? Pornger. Timo. Mesz. Jagr. Voracek.

Are all our damn players made of glass?????

FreshPerspective 03-06-2012 09:39 PM

I can't see Jake not being concussed.. but hoping for the best. We are too depleted as is...

FreshPerspective 03-06-2012 09:41 PM

In the interview with G it sounded like he referred to Kronwall as Kornwall... more like Kornhole....

hockeyfreak7 03-06-2012 09:41 PM

If Jake caught most of the hit in the upper lip/top teeth area, I could definitely see him coming out with no concussion.

His teeth probably split his lip in two, but it probably absorbed most of the impact allowing his brain to not slam into his skull.

I'm no doctor, just my .02 :)

MiamiScreamingEagles 03-06-2012 09:43 PM

It is positive news but that needs to be harnessed since concussions aren't always immediate. There's a series of evaluations that will likely be monitored.

FreshPerspective 03-06-2012 09:45 PM

Yeah I was wondering if his face absorbed most of the impact even though it sounds counterintuitive. He does have big lips though so that might have helped ...kidding. I hope he is ok....

The concussion is immediate, it's just the symptoms of the bruise that may take a while to show.

MiamiScreamingEagles 03-06-2012 09:48 PM

^ The diagnosis of the concussion isn't immediate.

WIP-Radio says an MRI tomorrow for Voracek.

Mgkibbles 03-06-2012 10:07 PM

Will there be a Shanny video for that hit?

LateNightOilerFan 03-06-2012 10:18 PM

Hope Jake is ok folks - it was pretty scary seeing his body's reaction to that hit, looked like he was about to convulse. I met him when he was with the Mooseheads, he was quite the fan favourite. When he came to Halifax he was so young and he barely knew any English, except the swear words. :) Anyway, he's a great kid, hope he's not out for long.

Gibbs18 03-06-2012 10:49 PM

Damn, if hes not concussed I will be suprised. His body movements after the hit had me worried, but hopefully hes ok.

Probert 03-06-2012 10:53 PM

I hope the preliminary reports of no concussion are accurate. He's a tough kid! :handclap:
