It's good for the Phantoms but it's important for the Flyers future Eager starts scoring some goals in the AHL. We need a goal scorer a lot more than we need another energy player.

I think Eagers combination of goo size and great speed should make him a good NHL'er, evan if the goals do not come. If he's develop into a guy we could put on a line against the other teams best, I'd be happy with that

I don't think he'll be a big time scorer. 10-15 goal type guy, but he's got great wheels and a good work ethic. If he cuts down on his penalties, he could be a very solid 3rd liner who will stick up for his teammates.

any chance this guy becomes a Keith Primeau type of player? Great defensively, good leader, can put in a couple clutch goals

Roger's Pancreas* 11-11-2004 06:29 PM

I think we have the second coming of Primeau in Carter.

Sum1winachampionship 11-11-2004 07:17 PM

If carter becomes primeau isn't that a pretty big disappointment offensively? I mean the hope now is he's more than a 20 goal scorer right

easton122 11-11-2004 08:22 PM

Yeah Carter's potential is definitely offensive not defensive. If anyone is looking to be a future elite checking line center it's Mike Richards but he doesn't have the size to be a Primeau. If he doesn't ever become a 2nd line center hopefully Richards can be a John Madden type of player.

The thing with Eager is he may be the same late-bloomer that John LeClair was. If not maybe he could always be a Steve Konowalchuk...

If you guys didn't notice im very optimistic :D

Eager will never be a LeClair, he doesn't have the size. Eager isn't small, and he hits hard, but he can't dominate down low like a LeClair or Bertuzzi can.
