Has Tangradi been sent back to WBS yet?

No, not yet. I'm guessing they're keeping him as the extra forward right now since Jeffrey is still out with a fever

When the NCAA & CHL regular seasons end, I think it would be nice if we did our prospect rankings. Guys like Uher and Wilson have definitely raised their stock while I'm a little dissapointed in Kuhn and Agostino's seasons.

I like this idea. Plus, Jeffery and Victory are no longer prospects by HF standards (I think).

Don't we usually wait 'til the draft for the infusion of new prospects?

wej20 03-09-2012 05:42 AM

Pens prospects Scott Wilson and Alex Velischek lined up in the Hockey East Quaterfinals with Velischek's Providence College beating Wilson's Mass-Lowell 5-3. Velischek finished with an assist and +3 while Wilson finished with a PP goal and ES assist and finished even. They'll play again tonight.

Agostino with the OT winner against Harvard this evening in game 1 of the best of 3 series.

Morrow was last night's first star with two assists.

He also got a 10 minute misconduct as time expired.

Harrington was the 1st star of his game too, finishing with 1 goal and 3 assists.

This'd be my top 10 list:

1. Joe Morrow
2. Beau Bennett
3. Scott Harrington
4. Scott Wilson
5. Dominik Uher
6. Kenny Agostino
7. Tom Kuhnhackl
8. Ben Hanowski
9. Nick D'Agostino
10. Josh Archibald

Yeah, looks like there'll be a ton of movement in our prospect rankings this year. I'd definitely put Harrington in our top 3, and Wilson's freshman numbers should earn a top 5 spot.

I assume you graduated Strait, Bort, and Tangradi.

I assume this is how you would rank all of the prospects not in WBS?

Haven't seen Wilson or Uher play to give much of an informed opinion on them, so I'm not sure where they rank.

Yes, all players that haven't played in the NHL.

Do Uher or Wilson have top six potential?

JTG 03-10-2012 01:50 PM

WBS is going to be so stacked in a year or two's time.

From the highlights ive seen Wilson looks like more of a scorer than Uher does. Uher looks like hell land somewhere in between of Talbot and Kunitz style-wise. Doesnt mean he cant play a top-6 role, but i dont see him as a "scoring" winger.

This is from a VERY limited viewing (WJC and highlights from some whl games). So im sure other ppl have a more accurate report :D

Thx - limited viewings are better than zero viewings.

Jacob 03-10-2012 05:54 PM

I'm not sure on Wilson.. Despite his season, I have a hard time saying that a guy almost not even drafted 8 months ago suddenly has the potential to play in the top-6 in the NHL. But he might.

Uher reminds me more of Tyler Kennedy. More of a good 3rd line winger.

Slabber Chops 03-11-2012 12:46 AM

Question relating to two players: K Veilleux and A Grant. Do you qualify them?

Jacob 03-11-2012 03:23 AM

As prospects? Yes.

2012/13 is going to be their season I think.

Potentially see the likes of Morrow, Despres, Bennett, Harrington, Kuhn, Uher to name but a few. That's a scary good potential team.

Hmm. So it seems that Bennett's thus far unimpressive college career hasn't hurt him too much in your estimation. Correct?

Burgs 03-11-2012 10:15 AM

WBS should get a much-needed infusion of young talent next season with Morrow, Kühnhackl and Payerl (and possibly Bennett and/or Hanowski) coming in. Plus rookies Despres, Samuelsson, Gibbons and Thompson will be more experienced. To go far they will need a good goalie, though. I'm not convinced Killeen is good enough. But there's always NCAA free agents available. Well, one less now that PHI has signed Ohio State's Cal Heeter.

Grant definitely saved his NHL ambitions by stepping up this season when others went down. Veilleux still has too much potential to just dump him. There is no reason not to keep him around for another year and see whether he can ever stay healthy. I expect the Pens to part ways with CPZ, Modig and Valabik, making room for the beginning contracts of Morrow, Kuhn and Payerl at least.
