Yes!

Good news, means Bickel probably sits or Stahlman, or both. Hopefully he doesn't get thrown around like rag doll like he did earlier in the season.

wolfgaze 03-16-2012 09:08 PM

Let's go Timmy.

Rykerman 03-16-2012 09:08 PM

great move, our d-men are exhausted

I Eat Crow 03-16-2012 09:09 PM

Eminger and Bickel have no place on this team. Won't be surprised if he sticks.

Ih8theislanders 03-16-2012 09:09 PM

Interesting. Could this mean MDZ is further away than we thought or is that just the pessimist in me?

UAGoalieGuy 03-16-2012 09:10 PM

Prove your skills like McD did last season when he got called up!

Clowes Line 03-16-2012 09:10 PM

Thank God. Sit Eminger and Stralman.

Staal-Girardi (Only because Torts was working Staal back onto the top pairing in the Pittsburgh game)
McDonagh-Del Zotto
Bickel-Erixon

BroadwayBlues 03-16-2012 09:10 PM

Finally!

ecemleafs 03-16-2012 09:10 PM

bickel was brutal yesterday. eminger and stralman have been brutal for weeks. hopefully erixon is able to handle the physicality and bring some composer out of the backend.

Agreed. Great call up..those two have been terrible.

SupersonicMonkey* 03-16-2012 09:11 PM

Interesting.

I love the way he plays, I just hope he's gotten a bit stronger since his last call up.

McDonagh. Girardi
Del Zotto. Staal
Erixon. Stralman

It's definitely for Bickel or Eminger. Only room for one of these guys who can't skate.

Stralmans spot should not be in jeopardy. Do some of you watch a different team than I do?

The Swedish sensation pair! Been calling for this since we got Stralsy.

mrjimmyg89 03-16-2012 09:27 PM

Anything to get Steve Eminger off the ice for us is a good thing. Let's move on from this mess. Tim should do well on a 3rd pairing with Bickel or Stralman.

SupersonicMonkey* 03-16-2012 09:27 PM

Stralman has his deficiencies, but we can't take him out of the lineup. He's a full time player. I can't believe the Devils didn't give him a contract.

He's a solid bottom pair defenseman.

Bickel needs a rest, Eminger is a #7/8 that should only play in a pinch when there's injury or illness. Depth.

I hope Erixon grabs the bull here and runs with it. Could really be a shot in the arm.

I think this is more about having someone who can play the left side while MDZ is out. We need him healthy in a couple weeks and if that means Erixon plays over him for the near future, that's fine by my standards. Look for Bickel and Stralman to both be in the line-up against Colorado tomorrow.

SingnBluesOnBroadway 03-16-2012 09:41 PM

If it means no Bickel, I'm all good.

Thirty One 03-16-2012 09:42 PM

How can anyone think Eminger is ahead of Bickel on Tortorella's list at this point. Look at their TOI in the last few games .

DM23BK30 03-16-2012 09:44 PM

Erixon is easily one of the best defense prospects in the league. This is a great opportunity for him.

Sorry, but I just cant see him being any worse than Bickel or Eminger. At his worst, he's still earning valuable experience for his future with the team.

Love this move. I just wish it happened sooner.

McMonster 03-16-2012 09:45 PM

Hope Bickel sits... one of the worst skaters I've ever seen at this level.

SlingshotVv 03-16-2012 09:51 PM

Let's go Timmy. We could really use another pointman that can find our guys' sticks through the neutral zone and can make a play on the puck on offense. He's going to need Torts to shelter him some on defense, but Torts is good at protecting new guys in the line-up anyway.

Well, Del Zotto (and Callahan) practiced today, so hopefully they're both back in tomorrow.

I believe they've wanted Erixon back up for a while.

I think Tortorella can deal with growing pains, but has no time for veterans making those same mistakes.

While Bickel isn't exactly a veteran, the idea is the same.

IMO.

SlingshotVv 03-16-2012 09:58 PM

Agreed plus the one thing Torts has been good about is managing his expectations of new guys. Not many times has he set up young guys to fail. Hags got to work his way from 4th line on up to the first, Staal has been eased back in, eventhough the team was floundering some, McD started on the bottom pair last season and had his expectations well managed. No more Renney feeding young guys to the wolves.
