We have to be ready for the way they’re going to come out, because obviously they lost a big game last night, but as long as we’re ready to play, and expect the best out of ourselves, we should be fine."

He gets systems, gets playing the games, gets that it’s not just about running a system and sticking to your routes, like maybe in football. There is some read-and-react that goes on, and it allows the guys to make their own reads. I think that has brought a little bit more offense to our team, as you’re starting to see. We’re starting to get a little more comfortable. I know people can say we underachieved a little bit early on this year, not scoring goals, but hey, we’re right there for the division lead. What everyone thought we would do is win the division, or have a shot at competing, and, well, we’re still there. That’s where we’re at."

It had a lot of meaning for us with the way the standings are now, five teams separated by a point or two. Teams ahead of us are winning, so we have to do the same thing. Against a team like Nashville, where it was 1-1 going into the third, it was kind of a time where you separate the men from the boys. I think we grew a lot overall in this game, and especially in the third period, to come out like that and kind of explode for three goals. We got contributions from guys, and it really helps the team, with myself and Kinger and Cliffy. Everybody played really well. (on him and Lewis scoring in the same game…) We talked about it, actually. We’re roommates on the road, and we had agreed that we were going to score together, in the same game."

(on the chemistry on his line…) We’ve been playing together for a little while now, and we’ve been talking about plays we can make, and using our speed, and it worked out for us out there tonight. (on his play on Dustin Penner’s goal…) I think we, all three, almost passed out in the corner there, screaming so loud (after the goal). It was a lot of fun, but we’ve just got to keep going. (on getting contributions from all lines…) I think we’ve been doing a pretty good job defensively, our line, but it’s always nice when we can chip in."

(on the game…) We didn’t quit, and that’s the biggest thing. When you go into to the playoffs, you’ve got to find a way to bury a team, and that’s what we did tonight. (on winning in back-to-back situations…) We kept pushing. Even after the fourth goal, we kept going. Obviously they got the second goal, but all night, we played very intense and that’s why we got the two points. (on whether he knew, a few days ago, that he would start tonight…) No. (Darryl Sutter told me) last night, after the game. (on playing after not getting starts for long stretches…) It’s not easy, obviously, but that’s my job, and I’ve got to do it right."

We played last night, and it’s mentally hard on these guys. They’re trying to get through it and it’s hard. We’re playing a hard game and you need everybody. We got big goals from our left wingers tonight, flat-out. Penner, King and Clifford got big goals. (on capitalizing on Nashville’s mistakes…) It’s a game of not very many mistakes. They don’t make many. It’s 1-1 going into the third, so there’s no much going either way. Both teams were playing hard. (on Jonathan Bernier’s success against Nashville…) I never really thought about it. If that had been the case, then we would have played him two weeks ago, or whenever we were in (Nashville) last. Quicker won there, so there’s really not much there. It’s a time where you give Quick three, almost four days (off) between games. (on the recent winning streak…) I don’t look at it as a streak. There’s not much difference in our game at any point. You get a little break once in a while, and hopefully you get some guys score some big goals for you. (on Anze Kopitar’s recent play…) Really good. He’s been really solid. He’s just got to pull everybody along with him."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Sharks will be fired up after laying an egg yesterday. Predicting a massive number of hits from both sides tonight.

I am not reading into anything that the Sharks did yesterday. They will come out hard. This will be a war, lets hope the Kings show up.

TonySCV 03-20-2012 10:27 AM

The Pacific Division is on a silver platter for the taking. Should be a hell of a game tonight.

If Dallas loses and the Kings win, the Kings will effectively be leading the division (even though the official standings won't reflect that).

Butch 19 03-20-2012 11:07 AM

Biggest game of the year.

Until the game on Thursday.

Kings win 4-1.

For Dallas to loose the coyotes would win. They would be leading the divison....for now.

Kingurentai 03-20-2012 11:15 AM

I want to see Fraser get under their skin, but without stupid penalties. That's a big thing we were missing against them last year. They were getting under our skin more than the other way around. Fraser may not be skilled, but he's a pretty good troll.

Also hoping to see Kopi step up :yo:

The scheduel makers sure got today right. All six teams vying for 2/3 (depending on division) playoff spots.

That's what he means. If PHX wins, they will have division by 1 point, but will have played 1 more game. Being that we average over 1 pt/g (80pts/72GP) our point % will be higher meaning we should be in the lead. Since the NHL goes by points on their standings, we won't be in 1st, but in any other set of standings we would be based on percentage of points obtained.

Legionnaire 03-20-2012 11:27 AM

This game is huge. If this team is serious, we'll see them come out INTENSE, hitting everything in sight and Carter, Kopi, and Brown shooting a ton.

We got this. 4-1 Kings.

KINGS17 03-20-2012 11:32 AM

I expect the Sharks to run Kopitar early and often. Every player has to step up tonight.

JBernierFan 03-20-2012 11:39 AM

I'm nervous. I'm trying not to get too excited about the game, because it seems every time I'm SUPER excited about a Kings game, we lay an egg. Let's hope the boys understand the importance of the game and come out playing like they have been and we know they can. People going to the game, you better be loud as ****.
