Given Blue Jackets' demand at deadline, Nash would cost #Leafs Gardiner, Kadri and their first-round pick this June. I wouldn't touch it.

If we sign Schultz, are people okay with this deal? Would Schultz make Gardiner expendable? I wouldn't do this. But I bet the price lowers over the off-season.

SeenSchenn2 03-29-2012 11:06 AM

No thank you.

hockeyfanz 03-29-2012 11:06 AM

I'd love Rick Nash but not at that price. No thanks.

dougy 03-29-2012 11:06 AM

Replace Gardiner with Schenn and it becomes closer but i still wouldn't do it.

No dice. I doubt Schultz would sign here if we traded Gardiner. Plus we can't afford this.

Paris in Flames 03-29-2012 11:07 AM

No dice.

*edit*

Creepy 'no dice' responses at the same time.

ACC1224 03-29-2012 11:07 AM

Why wouldn't they want a good return? Berger is assuming like everyone else what it will be.

We're just not in a place that we can afford to deal away blue chippers like that. Schultz is unproven. Gardiner is good now and we know how he plays.

Rare Jewel 03-29-2012 11:10 AM

No thanks.

I like Rick, But not at that price.

Lilou 03-29-2012 11:10 AM

lol they funny.

MajorityRules 03-29-2012 11:11 AM

It's nice that Burke shares all this inside information with Berger. They must be the best of friends.

Morguee 03-29-2012 11:11 AM

Makes you wonder what they are asking for the first over all if they get it.

This is another thing. Seems to speculative on Berger's behalf but who knows.

HOCKEYGOON 03-29-2012 11:13 AM

No wayyyyyy

SnipeCheeseAllDay 03-29-2012 11:13 AM

So Gardiner + Kadri + Galchenyuk for Nash?

LOL, no. I wouldn't even trade 2 of those guys for overrated and overpaid Nash.

replace the 2012 1st with Schenn and it makes more sense

Cls is already talking about moving their pick, don't know whether thats because they don't want to draft a russian or they want nhl ready players now. If its the later our pick wouldn't be a target

Gardiner, Schenn , Kadri for Nash
Sign Schultz

what about that?

It's more than likely info from the pro scouts, Probably on the Columbus side.

Epoch 03-29-2012 11:14 AM

Hahaha, no.

thebluemachine* 03-29-2012 11:14 AM

Thread title is misleading, this is only Berger's opinion/speculation.

As for the trade proposal, nope. Columbus can keep Nash in this case unless they're willing to send us their 1st.

Dayjobdave 03-29-2012 11:15 AM

I think Columbus should enjoy paying 7.8 million to a player who has asked to leave, and we should not touch that price tag.

As good as Nash is, stay the course BB!

Darkhorse1280 03-29-2012 11:15 AM

Yeah you wish Howson.

trickster 03-29-2012 11:15 AM

Nash isn't exactly what the Leafs need since they have Kessel on the top line.

Perhaps a KESSEL for Nash trade is closer to what the Leafs need.

A top centre is the priority... Not another winger who would underperform due to the lack of a top pivot.

pooleboy 03-29-2012 11:16 AM

lol no wonder columbus sucks, they cant trade anyone with such high price tags.
