You're right, I forgot. He'd be an upgrade over anyting we have, thereby hurting the tank mission.

Agreed.
Here goes Burke trying to **** things up again. **** we got 3 points last callups, that was more than enough goodwill towards trying to win.

Gberg 03-31-2012 09:35 AM

Maybe he's getting Scrivens some cash money

Dayjobdave 03-31-2012 09:35 AM

Pretty sure we have to dress 2 goalies.

Does this mean Owuya will start for the Marlies today?

Whether supporting Tank Nation or not, I don't think the pros outweight the cons of starting him (although backup doesn't sound bad).

Pros:
-Gets more NHL experience

Cons:
-The team is facing a Sabres team desperate for the playoffs and coming off of a loss, which could very well lead to a blowout the way the Leafs have been lately
-If a blowout happens, the fans are going to get pissed/sarcastic/apathetic, not the best for the goalies confidence
-Rynnas has already had to deal with losing big at home, now Scrivens too? How does that mess up Marlies Calder run?

TMLeafer 03-31-2012 12:39 PM

Time to destroy the other goalie prospect's confidence.

Doesn't matter who's in net. Leafs have mailed it in, and Buffalo is playing their most important game of the year. They lose (BUF) and they're done IMO.

OTT is winning today, and WASH has Backstrom back for their game tonight...BUF will be firing on all cylinders. 5-2 BUF even thought they played last night.

Tak7 03-31-2012 01:05 PM

Bloody hell. Are Leafs goalies 10 year olds??

Do they have to be coddled at each and every turn?

Rynnas got shelled, so let's protect him. There's nothing wrong with that, but the reaction to Srivens possibly starting is bizarre.

"Ruining confidence etc" - do you people forget him getting shelled against Boston? He's probably had that game on his mind for the past few months, and has been raring for another chance up with the big team to make things right.

If a goalie can't handle a tough defeat, then he shouldn't be in our organization.

ONE GAME will not hurt a goalie's confidence pertaining to the Marlies playoff run.

Get a grip

Call up Jeff Finger on emergency basis and give him some goalie pads and team prayers.

Are we going to resign him?
