  • "When you look at the players, maybe there's that one guy who was called up who never would have been called up if it wasn't for our situation and will make it next year because of what we're learning right now. He might score a Stanley Cup goal two years from now. You never know."

  • "We have resiliency, we fight and we have character. You can lose games but you can't lose your soul because you are quitting. And our players have shown that, and again (Saturday night)..You have guys sticking together, you have players who want to respect our fans and continuing growing that relationship that is evident out there. That was a packed house. People were wild out there and it felt like a playoff atmosphere. . . I think everything was done (against Winnipeg).''

#24 Trevor Smith got sent back down to Norfolk.

Vokoun is also having groinal problems, and is listed as out indefinitely. Neuvirth has been playing well in his absence, and would likely get the start.

Hey guys. Small favor. Do your cross the alley pals a favor...

(Or if you don't, can we borrow stamkos THursday? ...we have no idea anymore how to score)

Good luck.

Strange game for me. I've loathed the Panthers since they were gifted John Vanbiesbrouck in the '93 Expansion Draft and the had the gall to call themselves Florida's team with their name. Pretentious as ****.

I can't cheer against the Bolts winning, even a meaningless game like this. I wish there were some way to hurt the Panthers as well though.

Tokala 04-02-2012 09:44 AM

Borrowing from Dave Mishkin circa 2004...."It's over". I'm thankful that it's the last home game of the season. What a frustrating year. Hopefully, Ovechicken plays embarasasingly poorly like he has been and we can laugh at his on-ice follies tonight.

Nigel was partying on the Party Deck after the Winnipeg game and apologized to me for the bad season. Kinda cool that an assistant coach hangs out at the Forum after the party. I did ask about the power play and he just looked at the ground.

As for the poster above from Florida, screw the Panturds.

ThunderAlleyNomad 04-02-2012 09:53 AM

Cheering for the Bolts to win of course, no matter who it helps or hurts. Want to see Stammer get lots of goals.

As far as the Panthers...don't like them, but don't have any hate for them either. Especially not to the level that I do for the Craps. Plus the added joy of seeing a team from Florida stick it to the elitist ****s who want to make it 10. Yeah, I'll be cheering for the kitties. If the Bolts can do their part by making Washington look silly, so much the better.

Doctor Drej 04-02-2012 09:55 AM

I'm at a crossroads.

On one hand, I hate the Sabres (or their fans at least) so I would be content if they missed out on the playoffs. But on the other hand, that means the Caps get in (the likelihood of them doing anything though is slim to none).

4 goals for Stamkos tonight.

Felonious Python 04-02-2012 09:57 AM

Are there any teams we can at least be the spoiler to?

Buffalo possibly.

Vasilevskiy 04-02-2012 10:08 AM

weird game

LightningStrikes 04-02-2012 10:19 AM

We want 60!

HoseEmDown 04-02-2012 10:39 AM

Since its the last home game of the year are there going to be any give aways or anything with the players after the game?

On Monday, fans are encouraged to arrive early for player red carpet arrivals beginning at 3:30 p.m. on the west plaza. There will be face painters and balloon artists on the plaza pre-game as well as live music. Fans will also be able to register to win unique experiences and prizes on the plaza including signed player sticks and the chance to fire the tesla coils. The first 3,000 fans attending the game against the Capitals will receive a Phil Esposito replica statue, presented by Kane’s Furniture. Prior to the puck-drop, individuals can purchase hot dogs and sodas for a discounted price of $1 each. Additionally, scratched Lightning players will sign autographs for select PNC Bank Club and XO VIP Club members.

Would personally prefer to see Sabres and Kittys in the playoffs. Would LOVE to see caps miss. GO :lightning:

BoltSTH 04-02-2012 11:22 AM

I hate the electrified sheep and the kittens, so an overtime win, with Stammer getting the winner and his fourth goal of the game is what I want.

PanthersHockey1 04-02-2012 11:54 AM

if youre a florida hockey fan than youre a lightning fan tonight.

Go Bolts!

floridashawn 04-02-2012 11:55 AM

Cmon Tampa, Get Stammer 5 goals tonight. No OT!

BoltingAway 04-02-2012 12:07 PM

I would love to help the Capitals miss the playoffs. And Stamkos a 4 or 5 goal game would be sweet to finish off the home schedule...If nothing else, just get to 60! And I'm not a Panthers fan...but I'd rather it be a team from Florida than any of the others that wins this division.

HogtownSabresfan 04-02-2012 01:11 PM

Go tampa bay. How about you win tonight and we owe you 2 points next year?

Sorry. After last year with all the Rangers fans failed guarantees of gifts in return, we're hesitant to bargain with others.

snowden 04-02-2012 01:45 PM

I'm still waiting on some free beer from the Rangers fans.

Anyway, go Bolts! Would love to bounce the Craps from the playoffs

HoseEmDown 04-02-2012 01:47 PM

Games destined for a lightning OT win, almost every game I've been to this year that's how it ended.

LUUUUUIS 04-02-2012 02:32 PM

Much respect for Stamkos, hope he gets 4 goals tonight! GO BOLTS!

Kinjero 04-02-2012 02:51 PM

Easy choice for me tonight. Go Bolts!

warlord6 04-02-2012 03:02 PM

Well- not much to say.

I view the 3/8 gave vs. the Caps as this season's back breaker. A tactical error led to a strategic blunder. That game gave the Caps life and sent us into the final tail spin.

So. It's payback time.

FU Federal Swine.

JP Mick 04-02-2012 03:32 PM

JT Brown gets his first NHL hat trick!!!
