Potter not feeling well? Im not sure who got injured last night...

Mr Forever 04-02-2012 10:13 AM

Huh. Good for Rodney.

Has he played in the NHL before? I was under the impression he was a career AHLer.

ponokanocker 04-02-2012 10:13 AM

Sutton played too many minutes and is suffering from exhaustion. :sarcasm: Plus, we won. They have to do something else, don't they?

joestevens29 04-02-2012 10:15 AM

Not much to say about this one. Barker or Tuebert have headaches today?

Mr Forever 04-02-2012 10:16 AM

I know it never would have happened, but I'd reaaaaalllly love for the Oilers to call up Marincin for an emergency game.

Can that happen?

I know they wouldn't do it, but is it feasible?

Simply, I don't think they'd do it unless he was the last pro option. Plante is the only defensemen left besides Marincin. Chorney is injured.

But theoretically, now that his season is over and he's already signed to a pro contract.... I don't see why not.

Can he be assigned to the AHL team for the playoffs?

Yes. Frankly he should be there tomorrow on an ATO... OKC is low on defensemen right now with us recalling two of them.

Jimmi McJenkins 04-02-2012 10:24 AM

This call up right here is why I'm extremely pleased the Oilers have a farm system such as they do.

McOilbleeder 04-02-2012 10:33 AM

Ugh I wonder who's hurt. God this injury crap is getting old. Every season like clockwork.

jumptheshark 04-02-2012 10:39 AM

Not good newd for plante

SilverHaireDevil 04-02-2012 10:41 AM

Did not know that. Still am holding out for the kid

czar99 04-02-2012 10:59 AM

Who?

Sayuri 04-02-2012 11:06 AM

Love it, I can use all the extra incentive possible to stay interested in these games .

Not a player I know much about. Anybody got a quick rundown? I don't like to do too much hockey research while at work.

Reimer 04-02-2012 11:11 AM

So what the hell happened to this team since Friday afternoon? I don't pay much attention to the Oilers since I left work on Friday and then I read that the MPS call-up was nixed. They already had one extra d-man going into Friday's game then Teubert has to get recalled after that game and now Rodney?

What gives?

Gus Schmidt 04-02-2012 11:14 AM

I'm a bit surprised. He has good offensive skills, but seemed to be a real defensive liability right after he arrived at OKC. Has he tightened up his game and settled in?

Productive offensive defenseman in the AHL, questionable defensive decision making. Don't expect him to get a contract after this season from the Oilers TBH.

Sounds a lot like Potter actually.

Oilers are usually fairly good about finding diamonds in the rough for defense. I suspect that Bryan Rodney might be one of those. I'm looking forward to seeing him in action.

Who else was injured on defense to enable this emergency call up?

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Hopefully he doesn't get exposed too badly if his decision making is poor.
