Red Hot Cat Of The NightThe Red Hot Cat Of The Night tonight is Tomas Fleischmann. He has 5 goals and 4 assists in the last 8 games!!!Oh, and he's currently leading the team in points!

Captain’s Corner

http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...s/untitled.jpg
Quote:

“It’s exciting,” Weiss said. “To play meaningful games this time of year – and to do it as quickly as we did it this year, with all the turnover from last year – is awesome. It’s a fun group to be a part of. Guys are playing for each other, and we’ve got … to make it all worthwhile.”
Florida’s second-leading scorer this season, Stephen Weiss was a teenager when the Panthers drafted him No. 4 overall in 2001. His 29th birthday is Tuesday, and only one active player—former Florida defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, now with Calgary—has been in more NHL regular-season games without skating on playoff ice.

Player Quotes
Quote:

Tallon addressed the Panthers for about 90 seconds on Saturday, simply calming down an anxious bunch that had been stumbling of late.
“It’s not something that he does a lot,” Dineen said. “But I thought it was a very strong message he delivered. … Dale speaking from his heart is what it was.”
Quote:

“We just have to keep scratching and clawing. There were a lot of positives to come out here.”

- Florida Panthers Head Coach Kevin Dineenafter Sunday's 2-1 SO loss in Detroit.
Quote:

”It’s been huge for us all year,” defenseman Ed Jovanovski said of the goaltending. “I said it in Montreal, I think Jose has been our MVP this year, and when Clemmy has the opportunity to come in, he’s played great for us. We’re going to need them on most nights to be our best players, and on most nights they have.”
Quote:

“You don’t want to make excuses, but you just try to go out there and give everything you can every night no matter if you’re 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 percent,” Versteeg said. “Just go out there and play as hard as you can.”

Primary Target
The Primary Target tonight is the Russian Spy, Code name:
"OVEN-CHICKEN"!

Besides watching Oven-Chicken every shift we also need to show our grit and bring the lunch pale to work. Continue shooting from everywhere and start scoring more goals especially on the PP. This will help us in the playoffs as most goals scored there are ugly type goals.

Weiss will lead us there!

“The Dale Tallon Story”

http://images.checkoutmycards.com/zo...e0d10e9462.jpg

Booklet #3: The Playoffs
It all started with the hiring of GM Dale Tallon. He has shown in his short time here that he means business and has brought credibility to our organization. He started our rebuild by having the most picks(13) in the 2010 draft including 3 in the 1st round. Those 3 picks(Gudbranson,Bjugstad & Howden) will hopefully develop into key players who will help the future of our franchise. Tallon continued improving our future by drafting highly touted forward prospect Jonathan Huberdeau who should join the team for the 2012-13 season. Next Tallon brought in the veteran leadership this team needed through some key trades along with dispatching some weighted contracts of players who weren’t performing. 11 Players in all were acquired or signed before the 2011-12 season began along with some key trades/signings during the season. Tallon’s reputation no doubt helped bring in some players which he had previously acquired as GM in Chicago. Players who know what it takes to win and will help the development of our highly touted prospect pool. Next is playoff experience. That’s what our youngsters need right now is some playoff experience to know what it feels like and the increased intensity they need to play with if the want to raise the Cup over their heads.

Year Of The Rat Salute

The year was 1996 and only our 3rd year of existence. We made the playoffs for the 1st time in team history and although everyone counted us out we time and time again proved them wrong as we knocked out the Bruins(4-1), Flyers(4-2) & Penguins(4-3) to reach the Stanley Cup Finals. That Penguins series win was the last time we’ve won a series in the playoffs. Something the current Panthers are hoping to change.

So did I do enough to be in consideration for Thread of the Year?

RainingRats 04-03-2012 09:36 PM

Btw, Dinnen for all his love he's been getting needs to get some hate.

I hate his OT strategy. I hate his shootout selections.

I don't like how much he sits Barch, an element we could certainly use. He might have sparked some momentum with a fight after the 3rd goal by Winn.

Why didn't he pull Theo? I don't blame him for the first two goals but the second two were arguably his fault. We needed a swing in momentum. Instead we waited for a lucky, albeit good shot by Kopecky.

Why can't he keep this team playing with the intensity to win for 60 minutes. You'd think that wouldn't be a problem for a guy coaching a team who hasn't been in the playoffs for 12 years.

MillarWithASave 04-03-2012 09:37 PM

Great GDT. Lets win this one.

Panthers Rock 04-03-2012 09:38 PM

Epic GDT. Thank you for this. I'm quite angry right now but understand this:

The Panthers need only one more point, period, to win the division against either team. That's it. Literally taking the caps to OT ends this nightmare. Get. It. Done.

AwesomePanthers 04-03-2012 09:38 PM

Great GDT.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm hoping Clemmer gets the start. Theo hasn't been himself of late.

Edit: Because the other GDT got closed I just got to point one more thing out. I'd expected a by far better game by Weisser against the Jets. On his birthday and with the importance of the game, I'd expected him to be a leader and a go to guy. He just wasn't that tonight.

Bureaucat 04-03-2012 09:38 PM

do you mind if i "borrow" that last image for my avatar?

Booootthh 04-03-2012 09:40 PM

Theo seemingly crumbled under the pressure tonight, and that's not giving a pass to the forwards and defense in front of him by any means. I'd start Clemmer. Please, let this nightmare end. Please.

Erick 04-03-2012 09:41 PM

Is Vokoun playing?

Washington should at least be fair and put some chokers who've worn the Panther jersey on the other side.

A 19th loser point would be awesome. Can we do that?!? Or is it not possible anymore because that point would actually mean something significant? :help:

Clemmer usually struggles against Washington.

pantherbot 04-03-2012 09:43 PM

I'd go with Theo for two reasons:
1) He's going to want to redeem himself.
2) If we make the playoffs, he's going to be our man. We need him to play out the rest of this season to get back to form.

one more point, get it done.

FlaPnthrsPunk 04-03-2012 09:43 PM

AMAZING job with this GDT!!! It actually cheered me up a bit reading through. It makes me realize, we all have to stay positive as tough as it is. There's still a VERY good chance at a playoff berth and divisional win and hopefully it comes on Thursday :)

BabyJagrov 04-03-2012 09:47 PM

I'll wait for this GDT to get to page 2 before looking at it...

That *** thing takes 12 years to load and for all the good thing in it, it will still be disappointing in the end ! ;)

Laus and Berube is my favorite Laus fight.

That's true, and I understand the point Pantherbot made abour riding Theo, but that was a bit scary tonight. We were sloppy in our zone tonight, and we've been sloppy in our zone A LOT this season, but Theo 9 out of 10 times this season has those two goals. Just without doubt. Clem has looked real smooth and calm lately, which is why it has me thinking perhaps start him.

BTW Great job on the GDT Beezer, it looks fantastic.

i really do hope they get the canes game on tv, negotiate with the marlins or something because that could be a huge game and would be a mistake not to televise it

Bureaucat 04-03-2012 09:51 PM

ok we just have to get this to a part 2, beezer worked hard for this
