NEWS & NOTES

QUOTES TO NOTE

It's big. I think it's one of those things that's really hard to take it in and appreciate at this time of year.
We realize that it is a special accomplishment, but at the same time we know we need to remain focused and be ready for playoff hockey.
- Ryan Callahan

It's awesome. Last year, kind of squeaking into the playoffs on the last day of the season, and to have it a total turnaround this year, is great.
We knew we had the guys in here to accomplish something special like this. It's a good feeling.
- Ryan McDonagh

The biggest thing is our consistency. Thatís where I think our team has really grown, in not getting into too many valleys. We had one in March here. Really about the only one that we had all year long.
And itís a credit to them, and I know you guys (the media) piss and moan when I say it, but itís a day to day thing for our team here. I think our guys have really bought into that, of just coming to work each day and trying to be the best they can be.
- John Tortorella

Heads Up: The GDT is work in progress.

Riverdale 04-04-2012 09:24 PM

Biron likely to start.

Would really love to win this one, LGR!

Muh 04-04-2012 09:25 PM

We will win this game.

charlie460 04-04-2012 09:25 PM

Happy it's not NBC exclusive

I wish it were, honestly. MSG2 can **** right off.

BlueshirtBlitz 04-04-2012 09:32 PM

This is a must win.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

for real though, I wanna beat these ****ers. Can Gabby FINALLY get a hatty?

IBleedNYRBlue 04-04-2012 09:33 PM

Biron is most likely starting and should, anyways.

Lets get the W.

JeffMangum 04-04-2012 09:33 PM

Might miss the beginning of this game.

Not expecting much. A win would obviously nice, but I couldnt give the slighest of ****s about tomorrow's game. Only reason I care about Saturday's game is because we could play spoiler and knock the Craps out.

Either way, LGR.

If losing the last game to Washington causes them to win their division, I hope we tank.

darko 04-04-2012 09:40 PM

Lgr.

What's interesting is that heading into the game we could see a scenario of Buffalo at 92 with their game being played earlier in the day, Florida at 92 with their game to be played an hour later and the Caps at 90 facing us. They could win our game and either finish 3rd or play us or we could beat them and end their season and face Buffalo with no chance to play Florida.

I noticed that right after I made my post. If that happens, if the Rangers come out looking like they want to be the spoiler, they better win. I don't want to eventually face Washington, where they would remember that we tried to knock them out. That could pump them up.

BlueShirts88 04-04-2012 10:01 PM

Lets go RANGERS! Even though it doesn't mean anything, its always nice to beat the Penguins

bettercallstaal 04-04-2012 10:06 PM

For the first time in about 8 years I don't actually care about this game. It doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. However, beating the Pens is always nice :)

SnowblindNYR 04-04-2012 10:25 PM

I have no confidence in our defense being good enough against Pitt to cover up for Biron. We play worse defense than the Lightning against the Pens (yes I know they have given up 8 to them before, it's an exaggeration).

BlessThisMess513 04-04-2012 10:31 PM

Heres hoping to a good game and no "Penguins are the best team ever" posts again. Also, how far does MSG cover the Rangers into the play offs? Cause if it ain't Sam it ain't right IMO.

Only round 1 games this year (that aren't covered nationally by NBC on the weekends). From round 2 on, NBC and NBCSP have exclusive coverage.

The Islanders beat them in a head to head, Anything is possible.

HeaveHo94 04-04-2012 10:38 PM

blow em out!

DoTheBlue 04-04-2012 10:46 PM

This game may mean little in context to the playoffs but beating the crap out of them would bring great satisfaction none the less.

ImIdaho 04-04-2012 11:09 PM

Just keep hitting Malkin. Even if you're down by 3, just keep hitting Malkin.

Make the meat soft and tender for the wolves on Saturday.

Giacomin 04-04-2012 11:12 PM

A win would be nice to show a message!

we want cup 04-04-2012 11:14 PM

Have a feeling we won't be seeing Hank for this game. If that does turn out to be the case, I won't be expecting much. It'll probably be a bit of a letdown after clinching first, we're in Pitt, and they have more to play for than we do.

KingWantsCup 04-04-2012 11:44 PM

Going there decked out in my division champs gear.....

Jk I wish. Lol.

Machinehead 04-05-2012 12:00 AM

Nevermind that we clinched, it's the still the ****ing Penguins.
