He almost went all the way to him, then he backed off, which gave (Richards) enough time to make a nice pass.’’ (on whether he picked a spot before the puck arrived…) “Usually, most goalies slide across with their pads down. I really just tried to elevate the puck, and it just happened to go in a good spot.’’ (on scoring a goal in a big game…) “It’s great. Obviously, scoring any time is a good moment. A crucial goal like that, to put us up 2-0, was good for me and good for our team. Obviously everybody wants to improve and get better and get a chance to play in the NHL. I’m obviously happy to be here and get the opportunity, and it’s going well so far. I’ve been playing with great players, so that has kind of helped me along. So far, so good."

He made some terrific saves to keep them in it there for two periods. Slav had a heavy shot there that was able to find its way in. It kind of took a little pressure off everybody. We did a great job the whole game, as far as defensive zone and not giving them much. Our PK was huge, with that double minor that we had to face in the third. We got what we came here for, two points.’’ (on Edmonton not getting a shot during that long power play…) “Yeah, I noticed that. [grins] We did a great job. Maybe once or twice there, they were even able to set up, and we kind of shut down everything that they wanted to get going.’’ (on getting the job done against non-playoff teams…) “Yeah, but at the time, Calgary, they might not have been in the top eight but they were in the same situation we were. So that was like a playoff-like game. But yeah, these last three, mathematically they’re out but they’re still talented teams. They bring a lot to the table. They’re playing loose. They have nothing to lose. They’re just out there, some are fighting for jobs for next year. Everybody has their own reason to play. Just because they’re not in the playoffs doesn’t mean they’re not going to bring a strong game."

I think he kind of gets punished for playing here, just because he doesn’t get that recognition. In a way, it’s not fair, because I don’t think there’s any way that any goalie has played better than him this year. He might not have the same amount of wins as some other goalies, but in a lot of those losses he had, he let up one goal and we didn’t get any. He definitely gets under-recognized, and if he doesn’t win the Vezina, I think it kind of got stolen from him."

It was like in Minny too, with the four-minute. What are you going to do? If they’re leaking oil, they give them four minutes.’’ (on whether it’s frustrating to face a goalie who is playing well…) “You’ve got a game plan, right? You know what the goalie’s tendencies are, and you know how we have to play. It’s better to have the goalie be the hardest-working guy on the other team, right, then not getting any. If you look at our last couple months, our shots on net are significant, in terms of over our opponents. That’s what you’ve got to keep doing. It’s not a frustrating thing at all. I think it’s just, continue to do it.’’ (on whether there is a better goalie than Quick…) “You have to have 40 wins. The guys who have 40 wins are the best goalies. The next part is, you do it from the second week in April. Just like the horse the first Saturday in May."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Kick some ass tonight.. the Kings players should too! Woooooooot! Lets eat their children and pillage their neighborhoods! Please Kings, do me one ****ing favor and win this ****ing piece of **** game. I was at that **** fest last April when the Kings blew a 4 goal lead and if you would like to make up for that and a lot of the other pain you have caused my cohorts and I, WIN THIS ****ING GAME!

If the Kings lose, I'm going to fling feces at Sharks fans' from the smoking balcony. See, now the Sharks fans have a vested interest in the Kings winning. Nobody wants feces on their disgusting Sharks jersey do they?

Sank you!

Kings man 4 life 04-05-2012 02:08 PM

Almost like a game of flipped teams. Kings the team with steller D but no firepower, Sharks team with good firepower but no D.

I have a feeling that if Dallas is losing when Sutter has to make the decision tonight, he'll rest Voynov.

I hope not.
I want to just focus on San Jose. If Voynov needs the rest, rest him. It will be better in the long run.

Muzzinga 04-05-2012 03:03 PM

We can rest Voynov after we clinch the division, although i would try and get Drewiskie in 1 of these games just so he is ready for the playoffs due to injury, since he hasn't played for months

kingsholygrail 04-05-2012 03:15 PM

I took friday off, game starts at 4:30 am here and i want to enjoy it without thinking about going to work...IMO this pregame atmosphere looks like a playoff day, not any difference if you ask me.

JUST KILL THEM...FORZA KINGS!

Go Kings Go, don't be afraid to pull the goalie if you guys are tied with little time left in regulation ;)

Telos 04-05-2012 03:30 PM

Destroy them and clinch. That is all.
