Chris Neil goes down in Practice

@ Senschirp is reporting

"Chris Neil took an ugly spill at practice and had to be helped off the ice. Here's hoping it's nothing serious but reports from those in attendance suggest it did not look good."

Hope Chris is ok we will need him in the Playoffs

MandyAlwaysKnows 04-06-2012 11:52 AM

No big loss Bobby B can fill his skates...

Nabokov20 04-06-2012 11:52 AM

That was actually Ian Mendes, but yeah, hopefully nothing too serious.

Dionysus 04-06-2012 12:02 PM

Yikesss, we need Neil's presence against the B's.

BonkTastic 04-06-2012 12:07 PM

This hurts, hopefully it's nothing that won't keep him out longer than a week.

Neil is an ideal playoff warrior, I can't imagine going to battle without him...

JonnyMacSen 04-06-2012 12:10 PM

This reeks of Gilroy :sarcasm:

Fingers crossed, this would be a huge, huge loss. :(

The Senators may have suffered a significant loss at Friday’s practice.

During a shootout drill near the end of the session, right winger Chris Neil tripped over the pad of goalie Ben Bishop and crashed hard head and shoulder first into the end boards.

Neil was down on the Sensplex ice for minutes while being worked on by the training staff and surrounded by concerned coach Paul MacLean and about a dozen teammates.

Neil, who is having perhaps the best seasons of his career, was finally helped off the ice by Jason Spezza and Zack Smith.

More to follow...

Mother ********************************ck!

FreakyBunny 04-06-2012 01:03 PM

This sucks. The hockey gods must hate us for messing up the natural order of things by making the playoffs.

Hope Neil is OK and ready to go next week. If not, his presence will be missed. The ice just got a lot smaller for our boys.

Bileur 04-06-2012 01:06 PM

Keeping my fingers crossed that its not as serious as it sounds. Losing Neil would really hurt our chances in the playoffs.

Legend Killer 04-06-2012 01:11 PM

topshelfie 04-06-2012 01:15 PM

Its the same thing as practicing break-away's more or less.

Gil Gunderson 04-06-2012 01:25 PM

ughhh...

Why does this happen every year before the playoffs?

pepty 04-06-2012 01:35 PM

From Ian Mendes twitter:

MacLean on what he saw when Neil got hurt doing his breakaway drill. "I didn't see Pavel Datsyuk

FolignoQuantumLeap 04-06-2012 01:37 PM

This is very bad news.

Ghost in the Shell 04-06-2012 01:49 PM

At least it wasn't Spezza or Karlsson.

Gil Gunderson 04-06-2012 01:51 PM

Now Konopka will probably play. :shakehead

Hopefully it's not serious.

Magix 04-06-2012 02:03 PM

Dammit

Marvelous Manked 04-06-2012 02:06 PM

If MacLean is joking with the media, can it be week to week serious?
