it surprises me that he doesn't think of the Boston rivalry as being intense as we do (he mentions that it exists, but not to the degree that it is). Maybe he's avoiding conflict, but if there's one guy who is MOST hated by Bruin fans, it's him, and he's gotta know that. It's good that it doesn't affect him much, but at the same time, I hope he wants to beat them more than any other team. I think all great Habs had that, and I guess it applies to the other side.

Gabbie asked: when did the boston rivalry started for you. Last year was his first full season with the habs.

Cabbie (although maybe Gabbie is a more apt name) asked him: "when did you know that Bos-Mtl was a big deal/big rivalry?"

PK said he only became aware of it after the game when Patches scored in OT and the Chara saga began.

Fair enough, he didn't FEEL it that much before that, although pretty sure the Marchand hit (which I think catalyzed the new bos rivalry) was before that. Still, after that, I would imagine that he must feel the intensity of the rivalry. At some times he said stuff like "there's a lot of animosity", but overall I just didn't get the impression that he "hates" them in the competitive way that I thought he would. That's fine I guess, PK is always awesome against them, I'm just surprised cuz he is the target of so much hatred from that fanbase.

I get the same feeling from Price, the way he's always so buddy buddy with thomas (nut job number one). It's not for me to tell them how to feel, but i just kind of wish they legitimately felt the passion that we did as fans (both Habs and Bruins fans). They probably do, but downplay it. Bruins (players) definitely don't downplay it though.

That podcast was great, haha.

hoockeyrocks 04-07-2012 09:53 AM

about the boston and montreal rivalary, i know a few players throughout the league, and most of them dont pay attention to rivalaries like the fans because you never know who you will play with!

samsquanch9* 04-07-2012 07:51 PM

 That was awesome
