2012 Wild-Less Playoff Discussion Thread

Because the Wild aren't in it. Because we still like discussing playoff hockey. Because it's the Cup.

And go.

As a Minnesota sports fan, I have one question.

What are these P-lay-off things some speak of? :help:

Fel 96 04-11-2012 04:59 PM

Who will win tonight's games?

I think the Flyers, Wings and Canucks will.

Wild48 04-11-2012 05:04 PM

Fel 96 04-11-2012 05:25 PM

The Kings/Nucks series is gonna be interesting that's for sure.

Avder 04-11-2012 05:50 PM

Well, depending on how many people are participating here, I may or may not go into blackout mode once the Nashville game starts. The last couple of years I've liked to watch several games at once, and that means avoiding spoilers.

Avder 04-11-2012 06:39 PM

Well here we go...playoffs starting...and here come the anthems.

Avder 04-11-2012 06:47 PM

Crosby! Holy hell! That is one motivated Penguin!

Avder 04-11-2012 06:54 PM

Pittsburgh is just outplaying the Flyers right now. Philly just cant keep up. Penguins in complete control at this point.

Fel 96 04-11-2012 06:55 PM

So, how do you feel being alone, Avder? :P

Well it's made the decision to go into blackout mode in a couple of minutes when the Nashville game starts rather simple.

GopherState 04-11-2012 07:02 PM

Philadelphia's lucky this isn't single-elimination because the only person from the Flyers who has shown up is the water boy.

Avder 04-11-2012 07:05 PM

Welp, talk to you all later tonight when I come out of blackout mode.

rynryn 04-11-2012 07:06 PM

Philly has gone ridiculously soft. it's sad. the goonery in the past was over the top but c'mon.

D U M B A 04-11-2012 07:19 PM

I think my neighbors hate me, right now.

:)

GopherState 04-11-2012 07:26 PM

The PIT-PHL game is so bad I turned on Twins baseball.
EDIT: And there's the classic Joe Mauer Double Play. Your chance, Nashville-Detroit!

no way is it worse than watching baseball.

squidz* 04-11-2012 07:36 PM

Nashville game is good. I was greatly amused by the lone goal so far.

GopherState 04-11-2012 07:44 PM

Wings are going to work that old penalty box attendant to death with all these penalties.

squidz* 04-11-2012 07:50 PM

Can't believe that one earlier hit the post. Howard looks like Howard...that is to say, absolutely terrible. So many bobbles and rebounds.

squidz* 04-11-2012 07:57 PM

Rofl, Pittsburgh scores a goal on a blown icing call, then Philly comes back with Briere about 5 feet offsides to score a goal.

One game has missed calls while the other is getting those and more with 90 penalties.

"Applicator" (I know that's not his name) looked so mad when he was called for that high stick, but that was one of the more flagrant, stupid high sticks I've seen in a long time.
