See title.

I miss Niskanen. I'd play him over Lovejoy, though.

EDIT: Not that Lovejoy is necessarily bad.

SEALBound 04-11-2012 09:29 PM

Sounds like the Steelers fans and William Gay.

SEALBound 04-11-2012 09:31 PM

Is it too late to sign Joe Melichar?

eXile59 04-11-2012 09:31 PM

Yeah Paul Martin is single handedly responsible for blowing a three goal lead.

bigd 04-11-2012 09:32 PM

He's as soft as butter!

High Flying Birds 04-11-2012 09:33 PM

Not likely.

DreamBeaut 04-11-2012 09:35 PM

I'd rather Despres.

I'd take Andy Ferrence back in a heart beat.

No, but he was clearly the worst link in the part of the game that was responsible for it. Something needs to change if he plays like that in game two.

Iffyiffiffer 04-11-2012 09:37 PM

Shero made a huge mistake getting this guy

pensfansince88 04-11-2012 09:37 PM

each time i see martin on the ice i feel like puking

Captain Hook 04-11-2012 09:39 PM

What he'd do wrong exactly? I don't think we played that bad. Just fell asleep with a big lead again. Briere first goal was a turnover by the forwards and was offside. Briere's 2nd goal was just a shot thrown to the net with Crosby screening Fleury. Schenn had a redirect with Letang defending him. The team seemed convinced that Philly could not come back from 0-3 down to beat them and consequently they didn't have the type of response shifts/goals that you need when the other team starts chipping away at your lead.

I can't believe we're paying 5 million dollars a year for this pantywaist.

Steve Durbano 04-11-2012 09:40 PM

Paul Martin for Alexei Ponakarovski straight up this off season.

soft play throughout the entirety, horrible clearing attempts, no offensive game to speak of.

I think i'd rather see Strait. At least he makes an effort to use the body and push people around out there.

SEALBound 04-11-2012 09:43 PM

We need to get rid of him this summer by an means necessary. I honestly wouldn't care if the return what ****.

Martin got beaten to virtually every puck that got put behind him, and when he did get there first, he promptly lost the battle. He plays without urgency or investment.

Some people have misinterpreted his cavalier play for calmness, but the truth is that he doesn't adjust the pace of his game to suit the situation.

gordie 04-11-2012 09:46 PM

Having a better coach that brings some discipline might help Martin but until then we have the "Disco Dan Country club" to deal with.
