Well, 6-2 for Abbotsford. Not a good first showing by the Admirals.

They played well in the first period. It was 2-1 Admirals. They took too many stupid penalties in the second period and fell behind 4-2. The Ads missed D-man Victor Bartley. The refs let Mueller get mugged. Today should be different, if the Admirals play all 3 periods.

The Heat rallied back nicely to clinch a playoff spot though, so they do have some momentum going for them.

Admirals have to win today.

4-2 loss.... not good.

if gill continues to hurt, would you rather have ellis, blum, or hillen?

Blum. Trotz has chosen Ellis over Hillen for whatever reason (PP?) and also decided he's gonna' not only play that 3rd pair very few shifts but gonna' sit Ellis for the 3rd (or at least most of it). Blum gives us some of Ellis O-upside and the potential to actually play a few more minutes.

Sure, we can assume that for the time being Ellis passed him on the depth-chart, but I dunno - it's the POs, guys sometimes get a shot.

Laakso could figure into the mix as well.

I would disagree only because he isn't as strong a puck mover. Being paired with Bouillon or Gill almost makes having the other guy as a puck mover.

Milwaukee played better, but couldn't get the puck the last 10 feet into the goal. If I had a dollar for every time the Heat net was half open in yesterday's game, I could buy a new 2 slice toaster. The Admirals could have scored 5 or 6 goals if they finished some of their good chances. The last goal was an empty netter in the last minute. It was 2-2 after 2 periods and 3-2 five minutes into the third period.

I think the Admirals season is over. I can't help but think that with a different coach the Ads could have won a round or two in the playoffs with the talent they have.

Elimination game tonight. Hang in there, Admirals.

Blum gets a boarding penalty 9 seconds into the game and Abbotsford scores one second after the penalty is over.

Edit: Blum with two boarding calls in 3:34. One basically led to a goal, the other negated an Admirals power play.

Depends on how many we've brought up since a specific date in March. Your allowed 4, I think we burned two on Smith when Lindback was sent down for the one game, and then Lindback was brought up again. Somebody can correct me, not sure if that's 100% correct.

I'm pretty sure the 4 call up rule goes away when the farm team's season is over.

What would you guys say are the Preds top 10 prospects?

you would have to define prospects.

Top young players with 1 full year or less:

and not in 1-10 order, as it is debateable: Josi, Smith, Blum, Ellis, Latta, Beck, Bourque, Watson, Budish, Hellburg.

Once you graduate Josi and Smith from that group you have Shalla, J Smith, Ekholm, and Salomaki knocking on the door.

I'm a big fan of Charles-Olivier Roussel. What are your guys thoughts on this kid and what do you think his near future is going to be like?

Somewhat off topic: Some of you old-timers may remember the poster Eriks. He was a big-time Admirals fan, and got the opportunity to see the Admirals win the Calder Cup in '04 from WBS. He's had some rough times over the years, and now he's lost his mom. She lost her battle with Alzheimer's on Sunday evening (May 27).

He hasn't posted on here in a while; I suspect he may have stopped when money started getting tight, or perhaps he lost his password. Whatever the case, please remember him and his family this week.

will preds sign Patric Cehlin? deadline is june 1st.
