What Does Penner Get This Offseason?

Most likely won't resign with the Kings, what could he get from a team that needs a winger?

headsigh 04-20-2012 10:05 PM

Anything more than 2.5 is an overpayment.

Pretty much, though I wouldn't be surprised if someone overpaid; with the FA market being as barren as it is.

CobraAcesS 04-20-2012 10:08 PM

Probably a couple camp invites to see if he can actually go out and get into shape instead of eating waffles?

ManByng 04-20-2012 10:12 PM

he'll go to the KHL

Robbler 04-20-2012 10:18 PM

A $25 gift certificate to iHop.

Loso 04-20-2012 10:18 PM

If Burkie signs him...

Ranford 04-20-2012 10:22 PM

I bet he gets out of shape like usual

RogerRoeper* 04-20-2012 10:33 PM

Burke will sign him in Toronto imo.

King In The North 04-20-2012 10:38 PM

Goes to Detroit, they could use the top 6 PWF Penner and Penner could use the usual career reviving Detroit

SilverHaireDevil 04-20-2012 10:45 PM

It all depends on how far the Kings go and how well Penner does during that stretch, so far hes looked pretty good for the Kings in round one.

Had a rough year what with his wife divorcing him and his back issues.

Someone will sign him, likely the leafs.

ScoreZeGoals 04-20-2012 11:01 PM

Hopefully he just gets the **** out of L.A.

Dark Knight 04-20-2012 11:12 PM

I'll take him in Toronto. He's looked good against Vancouver and has had success with Carlyle before.

As a third line winger, I don't mind him.

Wow this is the exact joke I wanted to make when I clicked on this thread. I was just going to say gift card though.

JetsCameHome 04-21-2012 12:18 AM

Pancakes pre cut?

blasted_Sabre 04-21-2012 12:27 AM

Wont shock me if Burke takes him on a two year deal around 2.5. Give him a shot to see if he can get things going again. Lord knows we need someone with size up front.

Weird, I was thinking the same thing. :yo:

dobiezeke* 04-21-2012 12:33 AM

He gets a free ticket to Europe...but has to pay for his meals.

Or he gets signed in TO. Burke gets to get the last laugh against Lowe.

Maple Leafs sign Aunt Jemima as a major sponsor.

thepootamis 04-21-2012 12:38 AM

1 yr deal maybe worth 1-1.5 mil

Zrinski 04-21-2012 12:50 AM

I think he'll get a little more than people here are predicting. UFA crop is thin, he's not useless and he used to be a really good player. Teams will be willing to take a chance. I'd bet a 1 year deal at 3 mil, or a 2 year deal at 2 mil. Can't see a team giving him anymore term than that though, and Penner would hope he could regain his old form and get a little more next contract anyway.

Slatsmsg 04-21-2012 01:04 AM

Toronto is a good fit for him

Tebowz 04-21-2012 01:06 AM

He will get 2-3M on a short term deal. Has skill and is decent defensively so someone will take a chance.

Gibson Les Palms 04-21-2012 01:14 AM

I'd take him on Anaheim if it was for below 2.5.
