Korolyuk15 04-22-2012 10:13 AM

yes, most countries at least show their own games

I think you can also normally buy a subscription on the website to watch all of the streams, but I find the commentary for many of the non-important games is fairly annoying

No Havlat for Czechs?

Beltes 04-22-2012 10:36 AM

Murray might play for the Swedish national team. They are contacting Murray to hear if he wants to play according to Swedish news.

 Looked it up on eliteprospects so I forgot him and Zeus too after the goalies. :laugh

And Murray too. Not my day today it seems.

CZE: Havlat

SVK: Handzus

SWE: Murray

LadyStanley 04-22-2012 11:08 AM

Scratch Couture - shoulder injury.

The others may or may not play based on injuries.

There is also a possibility that some of the coaching staff (and/or equipment staff) might get an invite as well.

USA might call on Ferriero, McCarthy and/or Wingels.

It's probably Pavelski or bust for USA. They've already commited to several bottom 6/4th liners.

Jalonen was a bit mysterious about Niemi, though he confirmed that Lehtonen&Vehanen will be 2 of the 3 goalies selected to the WC. Ortio (Flames prospect) has been the 3rd during friendly games and he's played pretty well, but I doubt he will make it. Then there's Rämö who's still playing in the KHL Finals.

Even if Niemi makes the team, I doubt that he sees any playing time.

I thought this way too, and named only the "big name" players.

Mafoofoo 04-22-2012 01:58 PM

Can our guys just opt out and spend the summer adding muscle and training fueled by the anger of getting eliminated early? I feel like that'd be better.

No one is forced to go there. And I think that the only reason Nemo is interested is because the WC is in Finland, and he's probably coming home anyway even if he isn't selected.

Flyers prospect Hovinen who was the 3rd goalie last year didn't see any time at all with worse goaltenders (Vehanen&Lassila), and now we have a legit NHL number 1 in Lehtonen whom has always been clutch (+he was out of shape back then) when playing for the lions.

LadyStanley 04-26-2012 11:50 AM

Hearing Vlasic is off to Worlds for Canada.

SoupyFIN 04-26-2012 11:57 AM

Nemo probably not coming, Rämö named as the 3rd goalie today.

awesome, that's the Shark I wanted to see on the roster, should help get a bit of confidence and learn from some other great defencemen.
Same with Pavs and USA(unless he is injured)
Would be cool to see Havlat though you just don't want him getting injured

Keep him on bed rest or rehab until the season starts.

Has at least three injuries, so I doubt he's going.

sjshark91 04-26-2012 06:26 PM

Havlat will get hurt again.

LE, sigh.

Inub0i 04-26-2012 08:13 PM

I don't know if Pavs should be going to the Worlds/ Wasn't he playing through some serious injuries (Which could also explain his suckiness during the series)?
good on Vlasic though.

Swervin81 04-26-2012 09:21 PM

I hope Jumbo joins Vlasic at the IIHFs for Canada. The fact that we have Marc Methot on the team says a lot about how crappy our original pool of D was.

JayP812 04-26-2012 09:34 PM

I'm really surprised Vlasic got picked, I thought he would be second or third choice out of Canadian Sharks defensemen. Guess they wanted a defensive defensemen, there are few better ones than Pickles. Gonna be tough facing him. Hopefully Pavelski says yes :)

mide16 04-27-2012 03:37 AM

Thomas Greiss has had to play at Škoda Cup (today and tomorrow) .. but he can not because he has rsponsebilities in San Jose and will NOT play at World Championship.
