I guess the NHL is really pressing hard on the team for the Rats being thrown during the game.

Like I said in the other thread, if they are going to do this they need to make the rats available at Party City. I don't understand how this wouldn't make sense, driving traffic and sales to a major partner and all.

exactly this happened. A Devil fan threw the rat right before the face off, but there were a few moronic Panther fans that were throwing rats as madden was streaking down the ice towards the empty net. It caused some confusion as Madden didnt score and there were atleast 5 rats on the ice as play continued. It also happened in game 2 with Flash, but it was not noticed because he scored as the clock expired. Stupid idiots trying to be able to say "OMG MY RAT WAS THE FIRST ONE THE ICE!!!! IM SO COOL!!!!" caused the change. I really dont care. I refused to pay $5 for a rat anyway. but the complete inability to find a plastic rat in south florida has me annoyed

This. I never bought a rat from BAC, but it's so friggin hard to find one anyone else except online. Party City, Dollar Tree, Toys-r-Us: nada.

It makes no sense to blame devil fans for this. There are more dumb panther fans that are culprits than smart dev fans seizing the opportunity.

The selling of them at the arena cheapend the tradition IMHO anyway.

I can't believe some stupid NJ Devils fan is forcing the Panthers to stop selling rats at the BAC. I actually brought up the possibility of that happening earlier in the season but never actually thought it would happen.

If anyone wants rats, I can get them for 5 a piece at a Halloween store I live near, the same size they sell at BAC. Let me know, I'm going to every playoff game so just hit me up. I sold Desert Panther a few last game!

Regardless of whether devils fans threw them or not. Its imperative that any panthers fan going to the game in newark have an arsenal of rats to litter the ice there.

From a team that sells $5 made in China rats IN THE ARENA and makes them available to an entire near capacity crowd?

I mean, sure, I'm sure there was a Devils fan or two throwing rats, but somehow intuition tells me that there were likely far more Florida fans throwing plastic rats onto the surface. :facepalm: Seriously, blaming Devils fans is embarrassing.

I think we should just throw any Devils fan on the ice that ends up throwing a rat onto the ice. That's just a thought :)

I was watching that game. Some rats made it onto the ice strictly because fans thought time had expired before a touch-up after an icing, or that an icing was waved off, when the whistle had gone and the clock stopped with a couple seconds to go instead.

Fans thought the game was over, and they were wrong, big deal.
