General OT Thread #13: "GopherState Memorial Appreciation" Edition*

*Provided Matt Kassian does not show up or that last thread hit 2000 to move straight to OT Thread #14.

Lucky number 13 is only fit enough to honor and remember the great, late and not dead GopherState...unless of course Matt Kassian shows up. Mod, cloning genius, not Kassian, everyone is lucky to be apart of this crazy Gopher-fueled ride - especially those who went Deadspin Up All Night on the last OT thread. From the one-man GDT to that time Matt Kassian may have showed up in this thread or any other poetry-filled one, this forum's come a long way in jinxing every Minnesota major pro sports team.

Fel, I hope Gopher informed you of the next OT thread title. This one gon' be juiced by the time he logs on tomorrow.

Note to self: do that next time in case the one night everyone posts in the OT thread is when it's at 930 posts.

You win.

Reminds me, I read this kickass article yesterday on "Lies Saved By The Bell Told Us About Sports"

Also, the guy who played Mikey in the junior high years is a WCHA ref.

Thanks.

It's more of a "Lifetime Achievement Award." I mean, after last night driving the OT thread to almost 1300 posts, what more can he really do?

rynryn 04-25-2012 09:18 AM

what is wrong with you people? 4:30 in the morning? on a frigging Tuesday? You know, there might be a reason some of you are always talking about medication and doctors visits...You need some sleeps maybe.

mnwildgophers 04-25-2012 09:22 AM

Who sleeps when you could be posting on an OT thread on HFBoards? Lol.

I don't ever sleep enough though, college will do that to ya.

The real reason is an inside joke which no one here actually gets but I pretty much figured someone would ask why.

this providence 04-25-2012 09:28 AM

Oh look, another mod who's full of himself. Heh. ;)

No, short story is that at a place I used to work at we came up with awards for everyone and someone made one as the "(person's name) Memorial Award" despite the fact that person wasn't dead. Or leaving. Or close to being dead.

Plus if you're going name a thread after yourself, why not make it classy yet morbid.

Puhis 04-25-2012 09:36 AM

What the hell happened last night, and why wasn't I invited? :(

I feel the same way

I thought I was being smart by studying and staying off the internets then I see today I missed out on so much, screw you college

One class left today, three classes tomorrow, and four finals stand in my way of FREEDOM :yo:

Minnesota 04-25-2012 10:31 AM

Y'all are crazy. I was up until midnight, and this place was dead. Apparently everyone caught a second wind. :P

I love that feeling when you get done with your last final. Such a feeling of relief, I've myself got 3 papers due and 3 finals and then I'm done with school forever, then real life begins. :(

Congrats to you :handclap: and good luck in the real world, I can't wait to be done, I love college but I hate classes and unfortunately I have yet to find a profitable way to stay in college and not have to go to class :shakehead

Haha first year I never went to class, I'm not quite sure how I passed those first few classes :P Guess my multiple choice guessing was real good.

One of the only benefits of working in the evening is being able to post in threads like the one last night.

Bah, who needs sleep anyway? You can sleep when you're dead.

And if you're constantly sleep deprived you'll be dead earlier!

Thats what I'm going for!

Fel 96 04-25-2012 11:36 AM

Holy ****, just read the rest of the last OT thread and I'm still laughing.

That's dedication for ya!
