Only good on PP, terrible at even strength

I can't wait to hear what Leaf homer fans say when Seguin and Dougie are allstars for years. "Kessel is still better!".

Granlund2Pulkkinen* 05-02-2012 12:48 PM

No surprise at all here.

Neely2005 05-02-2012 01:18 PM

He'll probably be replacing Corvo on the Bruins next season.

Almost as funny when the people have to keep bringing it up and leaf fans have to keep letting them know we have one of the leagues best goal scorers.

This is by no means an attempt to get a reaction. Its truth.

I'll take Hamilton and Seguin over Kessel every day of the season and then after when we play flag football. Just saying.

Who came 2nd?

I'm a Habs fan too but I think the Leafs have suffered enough.

Scott Harrington.

"The Max Kaminsky Trophy is awarded each year to the Most Outstanding Defenceman as selected by OHL General Managers. Teams were not permitted to vote for their own nominee. Players received five points for a first place vote, three points for a second place vote and one point for a third place vote.

Hamilton received an impressive 80 of a maximum 95 points in the voting process ahead of Scott Harrington of the London Knights who finished in second place with 36 voting points, and Cody Ceci of the Ottawa 67ís who finished in third place with 28 voting points."

Fantastic season. I think he has top pairing potential.

Liminality 05-02-2012 01:49 PM

Good for Hamilton looks like a beast.

Also get over it guys, trade was done so long ago and the Leafs traded the pick not Dougie Hamilton. Give the Bruins credit for picking him with that pick out of the selection of players they could have drafted.

Thanks.

I wish we could talk about Hamilton without having to talk about Kessel too.

Hamilton is awesome. Was the clear winner this year.

Sure looks like a future 1st pairing defenseman. No more comparison to "Pressbox"?

This. Let's all move on. The worst part is that, honestly, Bruins fans rarely troll threads to bring it up anymore. It's usually third party fans beating over the heads of Leafs fans so they won't forget it. Most Bruins fans had to hear about the Joe Thornton trade for YEARS after it went down, so we get how annoying it is to have it continually brought up.

It was a fun discussion for a while, and it was a fun distraction (as a Bruins fan) to see how high those picks could get during the past two seasons, but it's over now. We can all move on with the players that our respective favorite teams got from the deal.

InjuredChoker 05-02-2012 02:44 PM

This kid could be just what Bruins needs for their powerplay.

I never said Franson was his ceiling ever. I just said they play extremely similar styles. Dougie definitely has a much high ceiling than Cody Franson.

*looks at your dp*

Would you take Beauchemin or Gardiner, Lupul and a 4th? Just saying.

See what I did there. Not fun being on the other side is it? You win some, you lose some, you get bent over in some. Bruins got bent over for Thornton (in the end it worked out as losing him freed up cap space that led to a cup) but for years it was onesided. Anaheim got bent over in the Beauchemin trade but it's funny because Kessel had 37 goals this year and was 6th in points. You do typically overpay for guys like that. Hamilton hasn't proven anything, Seguin has, I'll give you that but it's doubtful we even draft Hamilton for many reasons. Without Kessel, we finish worse and I don't think Hamilton was ranked too high was he?

Never seen a trade talked about so much. You want to talk about a bad Boston/Toronto trade, Rask for Raycroft was much, much worse and no one brings it up. What did we get out of it? We atleast got something valuable in this trade. We basicly gave a rival Rask for absolutely nothing.

vwg* 05-02-2012 08:28 PM

Still can't believe this guy made it to #9 overall. Bruins got a good one.

No you said he reminds you of Franson with a "bit" higher offensive ceiling.

Glad to see you've come around on that one though.
