Oh Gannada, our home and native Gann

Bad Will Hunting 05-03-2012 09:36 AM

I reflect on my reflection
And I ask myself the question
What's the right direction
to go
I don't know

Am I a Gann
or am I a muppet
(Am I a muppet)
If I'm a muppet
then I'm a very manly muppet
(Very Gannly muppet)
Am I a muppet
(Muppet)
Or am I a Gann
(Am I a Gann)
If I'm a Gann that makes me a muppet of a Gann
(A muppet of a Gann)

I still don't get the song lyrics...

The song lyrics rock, and nice write up Gann! One thing about the hit Penner took. Yea he got smoked by Oshie and put flat on his huge ass. But look where he was, down low, below the goal line in the defensive zone, helping out a defenseman (Greene) who had his hands full with an aggressive forecheck by the blues. You don't think his team mates noticed that? No surprise that a leader like Richards stands up for a teammate who sacrificed the body to make a play in the d zone.

Good write up Gann.

I wonder how much his marriage, and recent divorce filing, has had on him. Went through that myself five years ago, it is not easy, even if you know it's the right thing to do. There is just so much stuff going on, emotionally, financially and otherwise, and I'd imagine that would just double or triple for an athlete who has to fly across North America weekly, be a very public figure, getting trashed by the media for failing to live up to big expectations (that one is partly/largely his own fault though) and having to deal with other external factors relating to the divorce that takes away from your ability to focus on the game.

Anyone remember Claude Lemieux, when he got divorced during the 1994-1995 season. he had just six goals and 19 points all season, and he said it really affected him and his game. But he was able to turn it on in the playoffs and pick up tghe Conn Smythe that year, then returned to having a great year the next year.

Hopefully we are getting the Penner that is starting to move on and get past the emotional issues with his divorce.

Tooting my own horn, but I called it a few times early in the year.

Penner will beast in the playoffs, and we won't be sure what to do with him in the offseason.

Just had a hunch. Guy is way too big and skilled (for his size), to be playing the way he was.

Such a wicked movie. Mad props to Jason Segal.
