Sharks store sale?

Anyone know when the Sharks store will be having its sale? It usually occurs a week or so after the Sharks finish season

TheJuxtaposer 05-05-2012 04:57 PM

Really? Happened in late June last season, right?

Middle of June, but the Sharks finished near the end of May.

I think it usually is in early June though, regardless of how far the Sharks got (unless they won the SC). I remember the equipment sale being in early June even after the first round exit against Anaheim.

Mafoofoo 05-05-2012 06:47 PM

I'd guess June 1rst or something.

LadyStanley 05-05-2012 06:54 PM

sjsharks.com usually has at least 1-2 weeks pre-notice before sale.

(And IIRC, there sometimes is a STH pre-sale, before it's open to the public.)

LadyStanley 05-07-2012 01:09 PM

Just got email from STH rep.

Shark equipment sale: May 17 - 19 (early STH only access 10am-2pm on 5/17).

Shark Store sale: June 1 STH only; June 2-3 for public

Hmmm sister's college graduation or Sharks STH equipment sale...

Eighth Fret 05-07-2012 01:32 PM

We sort of got some of this last year, but can anyone break down prices for worn jerseys, signed sticks, etc?

GW jerseys: $400 and up. Thornton might be $1600 or so. (I never even consider his, if available due to price. I might get an UFA 4th liner for $400.)

Used practice jerseys - might be $60

Most other "new" stuff is perhaps 50% of retail.

Dear god. It might be cheaper to buy one from a store, have him wear and sign it on a warm day. :sarcasm:

MrGajman 05-07-2012 03:11 PM

Does anyone know how much the player's helmets and sticks usually go for?

Iron Chef 05-07-2012 03:15 PM

All I want is a Burns t-shirt. Can't seem to find one anywhere.

Live1evil 05-07-2012 03:20 PM

Does the sale include other items like elbow pads, shin pads, etc?

do0glas 05-07-2012 03:23 PM

Just read the email post. So even replica jerseys have no discount?

TheJuxtaposer 05-07-2012 03:58 PM

Damn it, I won't be back until a week after. ****.

Iron Chef 05-07-2012 04:00 PM

Can someone explain why game used equipment is so sought after? Is it purely for collector's purposes, or do people actually buy them to use them? I can understand something like a stick....but pads, skates, helmets? Maybe it's my OCD, but it just seems gross to want used pads.

kevin92285 05-07-2012 04:04 PM

Prostock equipment is a 100 times better than retail. Plus it's fun to show off while on the ice.

Thanks. I figured GW jerseys would be astronomical.

What about signed sticks?

sharksohnoes! 05-07-2012 04:08 PM

For the STH day, do you just need to show that little STH card that usually gets you 10% off at the Sharks store?

HOOCH2173 05-07-2012 04:09 PM

i know one of you will be buying the protective cup! And it will be used! So which one of you will be buying that? come on now!

Two years ago I got a pair of unused Bauer ONE95 skate boots for $100. I also still use a CCM helmet I got from that sale for $20. Lots of stuff is barely used and still has a ton of life left in it.

Yes you need the card, every person needs a card even if you have 2 seats.

Top of the line sticks go for 150 some of the ones just lower are 100 and some lower 1 pieces can be had for 30 bucks, if your right handed you have no shot in the public session except for the bad sticks with curves no one wants(getzlaf/lidstrom)

Signed sticks are like 200+ for top guys I believe

Helmets will depend on the helmet but like an s19 probably 60-75? some helmets will come with the visor free

Shinpads are like 40, jofa elbow pads 55ish, pants and gloves im not sure

Skates can be as low as 100 and I think will top out at 300 or 250

Blocker/gloves are like 150-200 I think, dont remember leg pads

Last year I saw some 43 game worn jersey that was only 250 or something, cant remember the name though

And yes you can buy cups, not used though

Wedontneedroads 05-07-2012 05:00 PM

In my experience a lot of the quality pro stock stuff is gone by the time STH can purchase it. Sharks employees get first dibs, and they do a nice job cleaning the place out.

When I went last year the only usable sticks left were for leftys, and they weren't that good. There was a good amount of goalie gear left though.

I go more for the collectible stuff. Locker name plates, game used pucks, giant sharks banners etc. I found a Jeff Friesen name plate last year :yo:

You might be better off going to the Sharks store sale on 6/1 vs. the equipment sale on 5/17. They may pull out more stuff at the store for the sale.

The equipment sale tends to be locker room stuff. In addition to the sticks, pads, socks and jerseys, they have random sandals, shoes and some shirts/jackets/pants but nothing really player specific other than jerseys and sticks.

I normally go for player sticks and get them signed at the STH practice night at the beginning of the season. However, I won't pay more than $75 for the one piece sticks.
